Asylum seekers do not have to apply for asylum in first safe country reached.

If they don't then they are no longer asylum seekers but immigrants.

danny that's the geneva convention. The EUSSR equivalent says that an asylum seeker must apply in the first safe EUSSR country.
TTT, but we are leaving the EU so that rule won't apply.
correct danny, but if it had been applied up to now, we/France would not be in the mess we are in.
Very true.
If there is a withdrawal agreement, the Dublin Agreement will apply still during the Implementation period.
If the EU ruling overrides the Geneva Convention one, then presumably we can make our own overriding rule on leaving. Although sticking to the EU one in this case seems sensible; at least for now.
