Hugh Grant advocates tactical voting to 'save the country'

Actor Hugh Grant is on the campaign trail with the Liberal Democrats again today.

On Sunday, he was out with Luciana Berger and today he's accompanying Chuka Umunna, candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster.

Grant - who's been a vocal campaigner for stricter press regulation - tells supporters he's never been involved in a general election campaign before but thinks it's "different this time".

why is it different this time, and he also advocates stricter press regulations, surely that isn't a good thing?
Everyone should vote tactically and support either the Tories or the Brexit party; it is, indeed, the only way to save the country (or more accurately, save the nation).

I trust he's on the illiberal undemocrat's case to dissuade folk from voting for them and ruining the nation; and democracy to boot.
The polar opposite view to that, OG is to vote Lib Dem in the hope of a hung parliament to prevent Brexit. To save the country.
Well, if the LibDems get in he won't be 'saving the country'. With Jolly Hockey Sticks Jo in charge it'll be a disaster!

Word has it that some LibDems think the party has gone too far in declaring that they will stop Brexit, and have alienated all the Leave voters. Derrr..... not that quick on the uptake then! They are now veering towards promising another referendum.
I wonder if found with a black hooker engaged in a sex act may have influenced his desire for curbs on the press freedom. He is looking after the interests of the thoroughly decent ordinary Joe after all. :-)
Question Author
should a bloke who makes his living acting tell people how to vote, shouldn't he be quiet.. ??
Why a 'black' hooker?
Would love him to knock on my door !

the devil, this is the real world not some movie
Naomi24 - "With Jolly Hockey Sticks Jo in charge it'll be a disaster!"

More statements with zero validity. You really must stop this.
Emmie - "This is the real world not some movie"

Could have fooled me.
//should a bloke who makes his living acting tell people how to vote, shouldn't he be quiet//

I guess he's got as much right to voice his opinion as anyone else?

Would you say the same if he was saying "vote Boris"?
Question Author
so he portrays the PM in Love Actually, a film i rather like. Doesn't mean to say we should be influenced by him or does it?
> should a bloke who makes his living acting tell people how to vote[?]

Strikes me he has as much right as anyone else - yourself, for example ...
TD, you really must stop telling other people what to do.

Mozz, //I guess he's got as much right to voice his opinion as anyone else? //

But unlike most other people, he has a public platform upon which to air his views.
Oh, young Mozz beat me to it ...
Question Author
Mozz he has every right, but to vote Lib Dem seems a step too far.
Emmie - "Doesn't mean to say we should be influenced by him or does it?"

No, it doesn't. Nothing says that you should be influenced by him at all. Nothing says that you should be influenced by any political party or their leaders. But are you?
