Where have I heard this before?

As the press and AB concern themselves over a stabbing in far away Sydney, I found this tucked away down the News items, this the 87h murder in our own capital so far this year.

"this the 87h murder in our own capital so far this year. "

Just short of the national average.. That's something to be proud of.
You're a strange person, splat.
There were 136 murders in the capital in 2018 according to Met figures

136-87 = 49

Expect 49 more.

136 / 12 = 11.3 (Recurring) (average monthly murders in London)

8 times 11 = 88

So one more this month and we're on track.

This isn't that bad considering we're talking about the capital of our country.

I think they may be more if ABs where to meet in person:)
I doubt any ABers are sadistic or moronic enough to kill someone due to online opinions.
That report was written seven hours after the incident. Are you expecting miracles?
It's an horrific situation right enough - however I have to confess to being bemused by your objection the the 'No arrests have been made' comment.

Would you rather they lied?

Hope they catch this gang quickly.

I was just being sarcastic, we read the same thing over and over again.

We hear of witnesses identifying the sex of the attackers, the car they might be driving, what they were wearing and actually seeing the suspicious persons.

Shouldn't be too long before they are apprehended, but I won't hold my breath.
No one yet prepared to comment on the concern over the Aussie murder against the latest one in our own capital?

Anyone know what this guy is on?
Thanks for explaining, I'll know now for all the future threads when you mention the phrase.
"Anyone know what this guy is on?"

Coffee and quavers.
Perhaps the incident caught others' attention because of the fact the alleged killer was caught with the help of passers-by?

And that is more newsworthy than yet another killing in our capital and the killer or killers still roam the streets?
The Oz story looked like being bigger when I posted it.
Innocent bystanders stabbed in a, possibly, terrorist rampage.
People have become inured to 'black on black' stabbings in this country.
I don't make the rules do I?
All part and parcel.
And to be honest, AOG, there ain't a great deal of AB concern over the Sydney incident.
//Just short of the national average..//

What "national average"?
Is it not the national average of homicides? If the rate nationally is X per 100,000 of the population, the equivalent figure for London's population can be calculated.

Well you did enter a thread regarding it, but nothing wrong in that seeing that most must have missed the latest London stabbing, seeing that the media chose to tuck it away almost out of sight.
