And of course, the link would help (you can tell I don't post questions that frequently). Full Stop.

Okay...
Not quite as bad as 'End of.'
It's only in social media messages and the press seem to have elevated 'less sincere' (the actual findings) to 'rude'.

We really need to stop being wound up by the press exaggerating things and examine the context.
More rubbish.
Honestly, after reading that gobbly-gook for about 10 seconds I gave up, period
On the rare occasions that I send a text it is grammatically correct and uses dictionary spelling but may contain accidental errors. I have no intention of changing.
Some may think that not using a full stop is lazy
What a load of codswallop.
Internet linguist Gretchen McCulloch (Is that really a job title? Perhaps it should be added to this list)

I presume an internet linguist is someone who talks absolute sloblock. Question mark. Exclamation Mark. Oh look, I’ve even added a couple of full stops there too. How rude of me.
I always use full punctuation and spelling when sending texts. I have never used text speak. I can't help it. It's the way I was taught and I can't change, or should that be won't change?
Outlandish as it may seem to be at present such nonsense *does* find traction.

Many people on this site have their feathers ruffled when reading something written in capital letters because it has become accepted as being a written form of 'shouting'....
Lots of exclamation Mark's can look a bit shouty. Not sure full stops are too offensive.
what a load of old pony.
.
JTH .From the Site Rules:-
//• Please refrain from adding emphasis in CAPITAL LETTERS as this indicates shouting and is considered rude.//
I know, danny.......that was my point; capital letters are considered to be 'shouting'.
Personally, I think capital letters in just a word or two just looks like emphasis. It would be different if it were a sentence.
It’s not the first time I have answered something on answerbank only to find I have had the cap lock on,
So I deleted it all, because I abide by the rules,
I don’t agree with them all,but I abide by them.
