It is not virtuous to invite murderers and rapists into your country.

I've seen other reports of this incident. Not the first murder of this sort it seems.

Apparently the man arrested is a forty-year old Eritrean and there was no connection between him and the victims. The motive for the attack remains, at the moment and perhaps for some time to come, unknown.

The German authorities, I note, were, to their credit, quick to set up a help-line offering counselling to witnesses who may have been affected by the incident.

Germans who may be alarmed by AfD's cynical exploitation of this incident should be reminded that the average German is far more likely to die because of an electrical fault in his toaster than being pushed under a high-speed train by an asylum seeker.

Have I got the narrative correct?
You forgot to mention the vast majority living in perfect harmony with those of other faiths all over the world (I've struggled to find an example, but I'm sure someone will post a few links).
french press ( I can understand them) say that the Eritrean from Switzweland was mad
and boys and girls - - this never made it to the english papers

A shooting at a Mississippi Walmart left two people dead, an officer wounded and a community in shock.
The gunfire broke out Tuesday morning at a store in Southaven, the third largest city in Mississippi.

this is after the food festival shooting. Not news apparently
didn't make AB News, anyway, no Eritreans involved
// other faiths all over the world (I've struggled to find an example, but I'm sure someone will post a few links).//

yup I can certify that there were no people pushed under trains in either Luxor or Aswan
// didn't make AB News, anyway, no Eritreans involved//

doesnt Ni say that if is not on AB AND in english,
then it didnt occur ?
The Eritrean man was on the run from the Swiss police where he was given asylum over a decade ago. He is a father of three and had threatened his Swiss neighbour with violence brandishing a knife. Up to this he was liked as he seemed to have adapted well to his new home. You may know all of this already, Khandro - glory to the AfD, eh ?
Jno, it did make AB news - despite there being no Eritreans involved.
Can't find that definition in Chambers ('peace' - not being pushed under a train).
Terrible incident. Next day's report - https://tinyurl.com/y4gsl4d3
...or under 'harmony' (but that was a long shot).
Narrative correct - relief all round!

Apart from the poor boy's mother, of course.

"Germans who may be alarmed by AfD's cynical exploitation of this incident should be reminded that the average German is far more likely to die because of an electrical fault in his toaster than being pushed under a high-speed train by an asylum seeker."
If we are going to reduce any German (or our) worries with statistics then why increase the chances by adding asylum seekers to the toaster possibility?
LiK's link doesn't enlarge on motive, but goes a long way in explaining this act: it's another case where a previously well-integrated and well-liked refugee suffers a sudden, violent mental disorder.
a man was hit with a hammer and pushed onto rail tracks in London yesterday. Police photos suggest the perpetrator was ... not Eritrean.

No AB thread.
Why didn’t you post one, Jno?

If a WASP (or atheist) pushed a mother and her son under a train in Barking there would, and should be, no doubt that the man was insane, therefor the assumption is that anyone, anywhere, doing so must also be likewise insane, but what if the perpetrator had an agenda which complied with his beliefs?

Or a link?
There’s a lot to be said for a return to border controls.
//...but what if...//

Is that useful in any way at all?

Tragic occurrence, poor child and horrific for all involved.
