They weren’t forced to walk away, they chose to, and is it the end of the world if they got splashed with champagne.?

How i see it... People do what they want. Peopel chose to celebrate with campaign (because it's expensive, luxury, and traditional) and other people chose not to, and instead chose to walk away because it doesn't correlate with their way of life.

No they're not outdated.. The men chose to walk away as you said and that is fine.
You're right , it isn't the end of the world - that is why they moved and made no hoo ha about it.

Outdated? Perhaps, not really an issue I've thought of, apart from thinking what a waste and what a mess.
"there is a drinking culture in the world of sports"

No, there is sport in the drinking culture.
Hi Webbo ( waves) well they didn't*have* to drink it in, they could just have kept their lips tightly shut , does alcohol on their clothes count? ;-(

Hi Bobbs nice to see you back
Thank you , a lot tamer now in here but much nicer
Beautiful comment from Moeen Ali...... :-)

Of course it wouldn’t matter if they were splashed with Champagne......but they move away a little and the rest of the team can enjoy the fun with the champagne.....it’s called manners.
I don’t know why they felt ‘forced’ to walk away. Just don’t drink the champagne if the bottle is passed to you.
Clover....they weren’t forced to walk away and the bottle would never be passed to them.
They are part of a team who know each other very well. Moeen and Rash don’t have anything to do with alcohol....their team mates know this and if you read all you’ll find it’s no big deal for any of them. They don’t give it a thought.....the two just step aside quietly as the others do what they do with the champagne.
No people should be able to celebrate how they like and certainly our traditions should not be changed for an outdated religion of a few.

But I dont really see the problem here, the guys chose to move away, which is also ok, so no problems all round.
There is so much hypocrisy attached to Muslims and alcohol, when I holidayed in Tunisia, the locals would pester you for your duty free alcohol.
It's their choice, they moved away and no-one there made any negative comments about them.
Yeah, no big deal. If they'd complained about champagne being used, and tried to get it replaced with soda water, that'd be different, but they didn't. They just walked away.
I would take large swigs of the Champagne. That is what it's for. I would certainly walk away quickly when the champagne shower started, preferably with a snaffled bottle for myself, as there is not much more I would hate then being sprayed all over with sticky alcohol. I detest waste in any case.
Maybe they melt in the presence of champagne – a bit like the Wicked Witch of the West melted when she was dowsed in water. No one forced them to do anything. More fuss over nothing.
// More fuss over nothing.//
yeah just like an AB brexit thread
deja vu all over again - again ( Louis B Mayer)

muslims dont drink alcohol, like there are no gay muslims, or all muslims are terrorists
PP, you old flatterer you!! Of all the posts you highlight just mine - yet again. So nice to be special. :o)
Perlease!
Muslims often swap sparkling non alcoholic grape juice for Champagne or other sparkling wines ! I have seen this many times, no one minds at all !
it's not the Muslims who are moaning is it? Nope TROB busy bodies taking offence on their behalf as usual.
