Good Luck on your endeavours. I wonder how easy it is, for his family, to get good Life Insurance that does not include Terrorist Acts. :-(

Don't 'bite off' a whole country at one go, spath. Start small in, say, Tower Hamlets and let it spread out from there.

Crikey! He is hopeful!
This is something we as a society should be supporting. Any positive movement towards a bliss that is known as acceptance is a step closer to a society we can be proud of.
Actually, many Muslims regard life insurance as not at all something for the faithful.
spath, the candidate needs his society to accept it - not ours. He's in Tunisia. I think he can count on, at the very least, 'go whistle'.
spathiphyllum......absolutely right
Naomi, we are all part of a global society. However, if Tunisia is aware that there is a lot of support for this man from the west, then they may feel acceptance and a sense of comfortably that people support this man.
Naomi //spath, the candidate needs his society to accept it ..//

//A June 2019 survey by the polling institute Arab Barometer reported that just 7 per cent of Tunisians condoned homosexuality.//

Naomi has a point...
So? We can still support it, regardless of how they see it.

Don't mix my words with Naomis.
I can see him attaining great heights.

Acceptance of homosexuality in the West didn't help the homosexuals who were thrown off high buildings by ISIS in Syria. There were large baying crowds on the ground, probably not ISIS, who came to watch the spectacle armed with stones to finish the job if the victim had not succumbed by the fall itself.
These people take their Quran to the letter of the law. Is the West going to tell them their religion is wrong?
Spath //Don't mix my words with Naomis.//

I'm not!

They may also see it as Western interference!
I thought everyone was well aware that the west thought that extreme interpretation of their religion was blatantly obviously wrong.
spath, //we are all part of a global society. //

I doubt the Tunisian electorate would agree with you.
We can support a candidate without all this claptrap.
Question Author

//We can support a candidate without all this claptrap.//
What claptrap?
As a Muslim Presidential hopeful it is the support of the Tunisians that he needs the most. We, in the West, cannot influence or Support Tunisian candidates for their Presidency under any circumstances. Good luck on obtaining support from a population who adhere to a religion that considers homesexuality at least a sin,at worst a crime.
I guess you're showing a perfect example of what's wrong with the world and society, Retro. Negative nanny.
//Negative nanny.//

Or perhaps Realist Retrocop...
Retro is publicly telling me there is no point in trying, so do nothing. To me, that ideology is what is wrong with the world.

Support can come from wherever in many different ways. I don't have to be American to oppose Trump. I don't have to be Catalan to support their independence.

Not Negative and not Stupid Spath.
Realistic and weighing up his chances. Of course your ignorance of Current affairs and recent history is a matter of record on AB, as you say you don't read newspapers, so I expect you are unaware of what Muslims have done recently to homosexuals. I can provide links if you are that ignorant of the facts.
I'm not going to discuss something with someone who can't compose a discussion without being offensive. I never implied you were stupid, i called you a negative nanny. You certainly are.
