Having seen bits of Robinson’s Facebook film, I’m at a loss to see how he can call himself a “journalist”, even one of the incompetent and obnoxious ones.
It’s like me taking a hammer and chisel to a statue and calling myself a sculptor.
Anyone who writes news items or films reports may call himself a journalist - but that doesn't mean he is a journalist. A professional journalist is one who earns his living from it and usually has some considerable training. Tommy Robinson is not in that category.
Does anyone know which prison he's going to?
All the more unfortunate he should be “convicted of journalism” ;-)
Haha! Indeed. Perhaps alternative wording would have been more appropriate.
I hope he goes to HMP Ford Naomi.
retrocop, That's an open prison, isn't it? If so, I doubt he'll go there. He didn't go to an open prison the last time did he?

I believe he calls himself a 'citizen journalist' which may be a term he has created, I don't know.

I assume it is meant to mean that he is not actually qualified, but as a 'citizen' he's entitled to report on what he sees and hears.

Which he is, within the law, and that is unfortunately where he and actual journalists who know and obey the contempt of court laws, part company.
AH //I believe he calls himself a 'citizen journalist' which may be a term he has created, I don't know. //

No, it is a term in use Andy. Also known as 'guerrilla' or 'street' journalism.
citizen journalism
noun

the collection, dissemination, and analysis of news and information by the general public, especially by means of the Internet.
HMP Abu Ghraib. With any luck.
Perhaps he will gain a better understanding of the situation facing Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe now? Or possibly not. Only our next Prime Minister thought she deserved to be convicted of journalism.
New Judge has asked why TR won't be eligible for release under the Home Detention Curfew scheme.

As I see it, the answer is because he has previously been recalled to prison when he was released on licence:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29690823

That renders him permanently ineligible for release under HDC due to the provisions of Section 4.3.1 of the MoJ's HDC Policy Framework:

It's been very interesting to read the remarks posted here Re T Robinson. I would suggest that the majority on here dislike the man and seem glad that he is being persecuted like this. What is interesting is the "Press'" insistence in reminding us that he is the EX leader of the E D F . The EDF was formed in the aftermath of the Lee Rigby murder and beheading. So sickened was the nation that some people decided to form a party to oppose violent, extremist Islam. He left the EDL 6 years ago. The establishment are very quick to vilify the symptoms of a problem and not the cause. The cause is growing rapidly and as it does, so will the symptoms !!
After today's hearing supporters of Tommy Robinson descended on a peaceful EU demo (SODEM) outside Parliament and attacked and vandalised it. This was after earlier lobbing bottles and stones at police.
They were also the only people who perpetrated anything remotely violent at the Trump protests last month.
If you are to judge a man by the company he keeps it doesn't say much for this "journalist"
//The establishment are very quick to vilify the symptoms of a problem and not the cause. //

As are others. Well said grandpajoe.
Naomi it looks like he's gone to Belmarsh. Not good.
Ex-UKIP leader Gerard Batten has claimed Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been transferred to maximum security prison Belmarsh - which currently houses Wikileaks Julian Assange and the jihidai extremists who murdered Lee Rigby.

In a tweet Mr Batten said: 'Tommy Robinson sent to Belmarsh max security prison run by jihadi terrorist gangs (for contempt of court?).

'UKIP Peer Lord Pearson to put Written Q to HM Govnt in Hse of Lords on Mon: 'What steps are HM Govnt taking to ensure the safety in prison of Stephen Yaxely-Lennon?'

Supporters of Robinson have also been sharing what is allegedly his prisoner number on social media.

Belmarsh is the default place prisoners are taken to from the Old Bailey initially before being transferred to another prison to serve their sentence, unless other provisions are made.

A legal source said convicts serving less than six months often serve out their sentence at Belmarsh, rather than being moved to a different facility, due to the administration required to move them elsewhere.

Robinson is serving a sentence of 19 weeks - but will only be behind bars for less than ten weeks.\\
LB, I wonder who the 'legal source' is. :o(

Since 1300 today I have seen 3 News Progs that have all said he has been jailed for 9 months so unless any of the AB Elite can improve on that ...............
Baldric, as an aside, look at "HISTORY" regarding the US military.
