Autumn runs from the 23rd of to the 22nd of December.

Plenty of time after the 31st of October to return and update MPs on the situation in Northern Ireland, I'd have thought.

yes if they do indeed specify "Autumn" but they'll probably specify specific dates. Even then the new PM can suspend prorogation for 10 minutes to give a statement. I'm not a supporter of prorogation but this sort of stunt makes me think the new PM may need to use it to stop these quislings.
As I keep saying, Tora, there is no way a "No Deal" departure will happen. Around 80% of MPs are Remainers and they will do whatever is necessary to prevent No Deal, seeing revoking A50 as their ultimate (and most preferable) option. They will stoop as low as necessary, prostrating themselves before the High Altar in Brussels (or Strasbourg, depending where it has been shifted to at the time) if required.

Ok judge but what if the new PM prorogues parliament? Even if this goes through today, he only has to give an update on Ireland, open for 10 mins and close again.

I must say I haven't looked too closely at the mechanism involved in that. I believe it is extremely unlikely to happen but if it does MPs must bear the blame. They have said "No" to just about every option placed before them and they cannot continue to prolong the uncertainty that prevails currently. The decision to leave has been taken and we must leave on the best terms available. Since the only two options are Mrs May's deal or no deal the latter is by far the better of the two.
