Tory Internal Inquiry?

Just for Tora Tora Tora, really…
After a recent call by the MCB (Muslim Council of Britain) for an inquiry into Tory anti-islamic views, you may recall that you asked me to inform you if the Tories ever faced an external inquiry into those. I still will. However, a clear opportunity - nay, duty - has now arisen for the Tories themselves to instigate an internal inquiry!
If you watched Tuesday’s debate among the five Tory hopefuls as leader/PM, you may have noticed that Sajid Javid got a pledge from the other four to OPEN just such an inquiry! I trust, therefore, that you’ll keep your own eye on the action to that end taken by whoever actually does become PM.

The inquiry into why the BBC invited a Muslim scumbag to ask the contenders questions will be much more enlightening.

You don't say? Sajid Javid of course being...………..
Hello, QuizMonster. Regards to you and Gribble.

I'm happy to chuck in my pennyworth, but can you clarify what you mean by "anti-Islamic"? Also, what do you know about the Muslim Council of Britain and its founders?

PS: Listener been a lot easier this year. Do you still do it?
yes I will but If there is Islamophobia it is no where near the level of anti Semitism in the labour party. We find the odd slight and comedic remark perhaps but I tend to think of us as more Islamorealist than Islamophobic.
There are far more important matters for Tory MPs to concentrate on. Many Muslims will always complain of "Islamaphobia". It's obviously terrible for them here and it makes you wonder why they decide to remain. There must be plenty of places across the globe where they might feel more welcome.
there should be an inquiry into islamists infiltrating council and government positions of power, let alone vote rigging, benefit fraud
insurance fraud.. oh what a phobe a.
Quizmaster, the replies to your post say a lot about the attitude of AB rightwingers and muslim watchers. At the moment they seem to be favouring protection of Jewish people from Labour, but beware those who knock on other people's doors in the interest of 'national protection' it might be your door they knock on next.
//Quizmaster, the replies to your post say a lot about the attitude of AB rightwingers and muslim watchers//

A "lot", eh, Atheist. What do these replies from AB "right-wingers" (whatever that may mean) tell you about their "attitudes". It seems to me that you infer something nasty about these "attitudes".

If you're willing to explain what you find (or suspect) is objectionable about my "attitudes" I, for one, am more than willing to explain why I hold the view I do.

But I don't think you are willing (or, perhaps, capable), are you? I think you're happy just to smear and denigrate people. Do you work for the BBC by any chance?

// You don't say? Sajid Javid of course being...………..///

yeah those being screwed usually the ones complaining

attitudes = poses = poses plastiques in Georgian english
I see an expert in these matter has decided that the treatment and perception of today's Muslim citizens is analogous to the treatment and perception of Roman Catholics in the 18th century (and, indeed, later).

Well, one big difference is that discrimination against RCs was in some areas legally instituted (the rules of succession being one most obvious example). There are no such legal interdictions against today's UK Muslims. Oh - and of course - legal restrictions on RCs and the perception that they as a group were a threat to national independence were not irrational fears. They rested on real events which anybody who cares to read "The Dummies' Guide to the Sixteenth Century" will be able to understand.

Mr Patel reactivated his account after the show to post about the debate and then deactivated it again when news emerged about his previous tweets.

He has now also been suspended from his role as Deputy Head of a primary school in Gloucester, and also from his mosque.

That wasn't religious prejudice, it was a debt management plan.

VE, Yes, I do still do the Listener. However, I gave up even opening any Listenerite post in the AnswerBank years ago. They so often contained notions of self-regard that are too much like, "Here's tae us, wha's like us?" - as the Scottish toast has it...and I am a Scot!
A sad consequence, however, has been that I have seen neither hide nor hair of the wonderful Gribble for a similar period. Perhaps you can tell me whether she is still around. I'd love to imagine so and, if she is, I'd appreciate it if you would pass my continuing regards to her.
If you understand antisemitism, a simple transposition of thinking will reveal to you what anti-islamic means.

For those who appear to have missed the point, the key fact here is that every single one of the Tory hopefuls has said he will initiate an inquiry into the matters already presented to their party by the MCB!
The MCB should be careful what it wishes for. It may well find that any perceived Islamophobia isn’t Islamophobia at all, but justified criticism. (I wouldn’t trust the MCB as far as I could throw it).

/// Islamorealist ///

What an excellent description, I wonder if it will become universally acceptable?

I don't think so somehow
Great post at 18:41.
// I have seen neither hide nor hair of the wonderful Gribble for a similar period. Perhaps you can tell me whether she is still around//

I'm afraid I haven't seen Gribble's name on a post since shortly after Maxwell's Demon, Quizmonster.

//If you understand antisemitism, a simple transposition of thinking will reveal to you what anti-islamic means//

Then I'm afraid I'm going to quarrel with your choice of words, Quizmonster. "Antisemitic" means hating Jews, and you're saying that "anti-Islamic" means hating Muslims. This is the same trick as the "Islamophobic" slur: "if you criticise Islam then you must hate all Muslims". But that doesn't necessarily follow, does it?

I most certainly "hate" Islam. And I do so for exactly the same reasons as other people hate Fascism and similar supremacist creeds. It's not "phobic" in any moral sense to hate Fascism, is it? In fact it's considered de rigueur in polite society. I hate Muslims to the extent - and only to the extent - that they embrace the fascist elements of their ideology and want to impose them on others.

How many UK Muslims fall into that latter category? I don't know, but it probably includes most members of the Muslim Council of Britain. This was set up in the 1990s by the Pakistani political group Jamaat-e-Islami which is the pressure group largely responsible for the Islamification of the Pakistani legal system under General Zia. These changes incorporate the notorious blasphemy laws which in some cases carry the death penalty as you will be aware if you're familiar with the Asia Bibi case.
