Yes, Tilly! Useless phone I have :-(
I read a couple of reports quickly and couldn't see anything which says they don't get paid when pregnant so the issue seems to me to be that they don't get extra funding to recruit a locum to cover the constituency work
No, they still get paid, it's not public responsibility to fund their constituancy activities.

Neither could I yet Stella claims that MP's are being forced between being an MP and a mother....
That's because she wants to see her constituents continue to be supported- even if it means risking her health. I know what I'd suggest to her if she was family or friend

I wonder if IPSA do approve applications in certain circumstances though?

Honourable, but is it worth it?
i worked for the pubic sector when i was pregnant. I got paid, but there wasn't any extra money to cover say hospital appts, or any sickness i took while pregnant to cover work i should be doing. The work was just covered by colleagues or (usually) not done. I cant see what she's complaining about. She gets paid, she gets sick pay, she gets maternity pay. That is not unfair. So if she's off sick, her constituents don't have access to her. In my experience its not much loss - 1) most of the actual work is done by their helpers 2) the results that they get are usually limited to sympathy. Hardy ever changes in the law etc

Bednobs, I suppose she will be looking for some rule changes. No doubt hoping her Party will get into power!!
NOT just MPs! The same applies to nearly all jobs !
I'm not sure thee are any jobs it doesn't apply to tbh
Being a representative of the people is not like any old job. It needs the representative there and fit to represent their constituents for the period, short health concerns excepted. If one opts to have kids do it outside the time one has been elected. If caught unexpectedly, resign and allow a by election. If already a parent, ensure your partner can cover the parenting duties for you.
