/// Yeah, well, Big Phil (as he prefers me to call him) ///

Oh sorry, I didn't realise the two of you were so close.
AOG, you have no idea what she does or doesn’t enjoy, you don’t know her (as none of us do) - you just seem to enjoy sniping at people for no real reason. Still, nice to know that there are some perfect posters on AB who can pick fault with others.

/// What an unkind post ///

Yes I agree, you really should stop posting them jackthehat.
Do you honestly believe that the DM would involve itself in anything quite as down-market as 'balanced reporting'?

Actually, you believe anything which the DM prints, so please don't concern yourself with answering that question.

Being an actress will certainly have equipped DoS with the tools to look interested/fascinated when attending something or listening to someone who would bore the pants of the rest of us.

However, I fully believe than until she does something about being mixed race, American, a former actress and quite possibly, a woman she will never find favour with 'the likes of you'.
I never thought I would be on the side of any member of the royal family ( the most dysfunctional family in Britain) but, she can’t be blamed for everything . It’s now a very boring thread ,
We may have to start calling AOG Claude if the catty remarks get any worse. :-)

/// I wouldn’t fancy being in the spot light a month after having had a baby. ///

Really ? You wouldn't like all your family, friends and neighbours gathering around you bringing gifts and congratulations with them?

How very strange.
"Straws for sale! Straws for sale! Come and get some to clutch at....."
3 days ago..DofS not fit for public presentation.
Today......perfectly able and willing.
What has happened in the previous 3 days?....the visit of President Trump.
Draw whatever conclusions you will.
A successful and enjoyable State visit, those who hate min, hate him even more, those who love him, love him even more.

The highlight of the tour....the grace and elegance of the first Lady......Melania.

Oh so others can pick fault, but when I do it's called sniping?

Don't you and your kind consider the constant attacks on me, is also a form of sniping?

As I have pointed out many times, I along with everyone else who enters a debate, must be prepared to accept criticism, if we all thought the same on matters, there would no need for debate.

/// "Straws for sale! Straws for sale! Come and get some to clutch at....." ///

Says the expert, I am surprise you have any left, the amount you constantly use to clutch on.
I can't speak for Sherr, AOG but.......my first was born in the UK....first grandchild on both sides. I was exhausted having to be cheery to far too many visitors however kind, cooing and gift laden they were.

My second in Canada......no family and a much smaller circle of friends. It was bliss.....just me...dad....and big brother relaxing and enjoying the new baby....quietly and calmly.

Now do tell......how much maternity leave would you have had if you'd had a baby.....what would you be doing one month after....please answer after giving thought to what would be happing to your body so soon after giving birth?

Will AOG answer?..... ;-)
Those on this post who are throwing the 'sniping from the sidelines' accusations around are usually falling over each other to be first in the queue to take a pop at the President of the United States. Pot and Kettle.
gness........perhaps AOG may allow me to answer for him.
Your points are well taken as there is a marked overplay of all female hormones preparing for the birth of the child and then a readjustment of hormonal during delivery and the post partum phase and the length of time for readjustment varies.

However this readjustment or need for readjustment doesn't happen overnight and if one is explaining the absence of the Dof S at at least one function for President Trump, one has to admit.......she recovered pretty quickly......within 3 days. Possible I suppose but highly questionable.
She looks great. Hopefully she is feeling it too.
A lot of things can change within 3 days after childbirth, sqad. Maybe her bleeding has stopped. Maybe her milk is more predictable. Maybe she feels more comfortable on a family occasion than meeting someone she doesn't like. Maybe the baby has started taking a bottle.
Guess away.... :-)
pixie.......a lot of "maybe's" there.

" on a family occasion than meeting someone she doesn't like. "

and that is the basis of this thread of which you have hit the nail on the head.
That was my point, sqad. Loads of possible reasons and none of us actually know.
If it was purely to avoid Trump, fair enough. I wouldn't leave my newborn baby to spend time with him either. Luckily she had a valid reason.
I think Givenchy and Noel Stewart should be sent to the Tower.I don't think her sombre outfit was flattering at all. Am I allowed to state my opinion on that ladies? Miaow.
