/// Over 100,000 people from five different mosques gathered together for the outdoor Eid salah – the largest Eid celebration in Europe. ///

That is 20,000 from each Mosque, could that be true?

You're the one who brought Muslim soldiers in the Second World War into the thread, Calicogirl.
Islamophobia is a made up word, jim.
Do I hate Muslims, no.
Do I hate Islam, damn right I do.
AOG as you very well know Italy supported the Axis powers until 1943 when they changed sides and supported the Allies- what of that is either not common knowledge or difficult to understand?
Italy switched sides in 1943 to the Allies, so they did switch sides at least once.

/// Why do cowards who refuse to acknowledge Muslim mysogyny call those that do Islamaphobes? ///

It is not just Islamic mysogyny that some refuse to acknowledge, but also Islamic terrorists attacks, and mass grooming gangs.

Some would rather call persons that condemn these evil deeds as Islamaphobes or even racists.
"AOG as you very well know Italy supported the Axis powers until 1943 when they changed sides and supported the Allies"

It appears he didn't know.
It was often the case that colonial peoples supported the forces who were fighting their colonial masters: not only Arabs in the Middle East but many in Eastern Europe notably the Balkans and Soviet Union.
It’s a pity AOG quoted so selectively from Wikipedia:

^There you go. Straight from the Islamist's mouth.

I did but I didn't consider the fact that Italy surrendered to the allies, and then opposed the Nazis, as switching sides and supporting the allies in the true sense, they only did so to enable them to get a better surrender deal. The Nazis still occupied Italy until 1945.

Mussolini, was rescued by the Nazis from an Italian prison and made the leader of a puppet state, the Italian Social Republic. in parts of Italy not occupied by Allied forces. But he was later captured and executed by members of the Italian Partisan Resistance.
speaking of italy, i remember this scene in the film catch 22
"I didn't consider the fact that Italy surrendered to the allies, and then opposed the Nazis, as switching sides and supporting the allies in the true sense"

Right, being on the same side as the Nazis but later opposing them isn't changing sides? Unbelievable.

The fact that they declared war on Germany not long after the surrender might have been a clue but hey, what do I know?
I think I'm checking out of this post- it's turning into The Twilight Zone...
I think it's wandered off-topic, only slightly mind...
Can any of the defenders of Islam here tell me what they admire about it?
I admire someones free choice to follow whatever religion they see fit.
Opting for another religion can be bad for the health of former Muslims spath so that's no recommendation.

Good question Naomi, I have often wondered that, after what Islam has brought into this country.

Perhaps you should enter a separate thread on that subject?

Perhaps in Society & Culture?
//I admire someones free choice to follow whatever religion they see fit.//

Even if the teachings of that religion are in direct opposition to UK values?
/// Can any of the defenders of Islam here tell me what they admire about it? ///
I don't think you will find that anyone 'admire's' it more a chance of defending free choice to follow the religion of their choosing!
"Even if the teachings of that religion are in direct opposition to UK values?"

I don't care about a countries values. I care about humanitarianism. Not all Islam followers are the same. Why should one religion be suppressed and another not when in reality.. they are basically the same?

Extremists are extremists, not religious.
Hitler (has anyone mentioned him yet?) was an ardent admirer of Islam, he even gave the Muslim Brotherhood a building in Munich for a headquarters - which is still standing. It was the fascist element of Islam which he liked, (& which is also still standing!).
