This is the doctor who ask a mother to lift her veil so he could hear clearly what she was telling him about her child's symptoms. I believe it is her husband who is complaining, not his wife.

Not really. You're just talking drivel, woofgang.
This isn't "equality", woof. It's a request for special treatment.
For no sound medical reason...
We don't know what it is.....we don't know the facts....and it sounds like so far the GMC don't know or haven't established the facts either.
They shouldn't be worrying about it even, considering everybody involved is ok with it.
No matter what the details are, it is about whether wearing a mask is appropriate for communication. Nothing else.
Can someone please tell me why anyone is defending the complaint?
// Naomi I didn'tknow that ... // The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family. \\

neither did I nigh
but that explains why the streets are empty of people with veils because if they have a chaperone ( that is they have gone out in twos) then they dont have to wear one and they dont !

yeah - - lack of a chaperone may cause problems for the GP.

// Can someone please tell me why anyone is defending the complaint?//

the report is completely nonsensical - the GMC has no part in employment for a start and he hasnt been fired for another start
and so ( a fortiori - oops sozza Nigh!) GMC cant have fired him (OK that bit is a little technical I agree)

and so pointing out that it is complete nonsense
does that count as defending the complaint ?

I suppose you would say Nigh, this is AB so of course it does !

He hasn't been fired, but is a locum, unable to work while under investigation.
PP, // The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family. \\

Do try to keep up. See 21:28. Do try to keep up with the rest too. Taking a breath occasionally and attempting to get your brain in gear might help.
I see the dhimmis and cowardly appeasers are out in force.
What's new?

Naomi thank you. I did wonder but when I thought about it, it actually made sense that the husband wouldn't mind if another woman was in the room. But as you say, not so.
Sorry about that ladybirder. Just an error in typing.
