Notre Dame Fire

I'm trying to find any news on the investigation of its cause, but other than statements saying it was an "accident" I've drawn a blank.
There was a report a couple of weeks ago that several French MPs wanted clarity and were unhappy that there appeared to be a cover-up, or at least a lack of determination on the part of the government to pursue the matter fully.
Has anyone seen anything ?

I've just had a quick look and as far as I can see investigators have yet to reach a conclusion.
All we know is that it wasn't arson. (apparently)
How can we 'know' that when investigations haven't been completed?
how can we know anything when we are on AB?

sorry that is a deeper question than it seems - we can only know thro perception and our interpretation of it ....
the police seenk zay know

https://fr.sputniknews.com/france/201904181040803485-police-cause-plus-probable-incendie-notre-dame-paris/

try googling - I bet no one did! - incendie de notre dame - les causes

and all sorts of stories come up ( in forrin I am afraid Ni) which would be at home on AB ( in English of course)

[a été très probablement provoqué par un court-circuit électrique, écrit Associated Press.]
yikes but I might not live writing that !

my thread on those naughty naughty firemen heroes having their evil way with a student lasted all of 30s

PP, the French cops say it was "probably" an electric short-circuit, but workmen have said (according to a German press report) that there was no electric apparatus in that area and why did the fire spread so rapidly?
As someone with a 'first-class degree' in lighting fires, I know you can't set fire to an oak beam without plenty of kindling, (or an incendiary device)
// Rector Patrick Chauvet did not elaborate on the exact nature of the glitch, adding that “we may find out what happened in two or three months.” //

We will just have to wait and see.

I realise that there is a conspiracy theory that muslims committed an arson attack on the Cathedral, but there is no evidence to support that. Or a conspiracy that the authorities know it was set alight by muslims but are suppressing it and concocting a cover up story. Again, no evidence of that.
... but you chose to promote such idiotic theories?
// German press report says that there was no electric apparatus in that area //

French newspaper Le Parisien reported the flames may have started at the bottom of the cathedral's giant spire and may have been caused by an electrical problem in an elevator. Chauvet said a fire alarm went off at Notre Dame shortly after 6 p.m. Monday but a computer bug showed the fire's location in the wrong place.
JF85

I am not promoting that idiocy, I was responding to Khandro’s assertion that an incendiary device or kindling must have been used to set the Cathedral alight.
JF85, such theories were hinted at within hours of the fire, right here on AB. Certainly not by Gromit, of course.

Gromit; //French newspaper Le Parisien reported the flames MAY have started at the bottom of the cathedral's giant spire and MAY have been caused by an electrical problem in an elevator. //

Too many "mays" there, I think we can say "may" to anything. Who is on the case, Inspector Clouseau?
// but workmen have said (according to a German press report)//

oh the Germans have reinvaded paris and we didnt notice or they have particularly high powered binoculars do they?

as for fire raising with 600 y o wood from Notre Dame I WILL have to bow to your superior experience

the french have deplored the secrecy
The fact that there is no evidence gromit merely proves that the evidence is being concealed

;-)
Exactly Ich,

If arsonists were in the rafters, but no one saw them, then that PROVES they must have had black faces. Anyone denying that is part of the conspiracy to hide the truth that it was Islamists wot dun it.
Khandro, I read through your link and came across a reference to statues of the apostles removed during the renovations being beheaded. I can’t find anything about this except from sources I don’t recognise. Do you know any more?
Question Author
No, but keep searching please. I don't think you will find anything on the BBC though :0)

I don't doubt that.
What's worse. Left-wingers trying to act smart or trying to be funny.
