Now will people admit that the kind of climate change we're experiencing isn't just "natural" ?

I don't think anyone ever said it was 'just' natural - rather that much of it is natural.

People have said, and strongly implied, that the climate changes, and that is how it is. They imply that human activity hasn't rapidly increased the deterioration of our climate.
so the scientific basis of the evidence of climate change is that a bunch of self-serving money-grabbing parliamentarians said so? and that's it?
Very interesting to see the recommendations of the climate change committee.
Great news if you love trees and hedges :-)

You now this new wave of environmental worry was sparked by David Attenborough?
Bought your horse and cart yet, spath?

Watch a nature documentary. Our planet, blue planet.. A ted talk i dano.

Naomi, that's antagonistically pathetic. I do what i can and where i can.
Luckily Answerbank will continue to provide answer to crossword clues and leave the business of holding the waves at bay to others :-)
Better get rid of that petrol lawn mower Spath.

Yep, true. I'm looking at the fordable, battery powered ego range for next year. It comes with headlights that pop up... It's the little things. Folds away into the size of a suitcase
spath, //I do what i can and where i can. //

And what leads you to believe that others don't?
Question Author
Nothing. But when people imply that the rapid deterioration of the environment is natural, it gives the impression little things to make a difference isn't top of their priorities list.
this is what charges your lawnmower Spath - you're swapping carbon at point of use for carbon in someone else's back yard....

Perhaps you misunderstand, spath. Some simply have no interest in virtue signalling by publicly jumping on the eco-warrior bandwagon.
I think a lot of the problem: the reason for the defensive attitude and claims of conspiracy by the powers that be, is people think they will be expected to sort things out on their own.
Plainly the tree planting, the phasing out of petrol cars and gas boilers etc will be managed by government. And there will be fewer and more expensive flights because quite simply there will have to be.

Wind turbines? Solar pannels?

I've been known to be against industrial energy and all for renewables. It's not up to me, the consumer, to implement these big changes though. Change has to start at the top.

What a snowflake comment. If you don't wish to discuss this Naomi, other threads are available to get involved with.
Question Author
If making people aware of an emergency is virtue signalling then i mean what gravity does being a virtue signaller have? That's what people call other people when they have absolutely nothing to say, so instead they're malicious about them trying to do a good thing.

All i can say to that ideology is, grow up, and if you have nothing nice to say then don't.
I am discussing it - and this thread will do as well as any other.
