Isn’t it wonderful?

Skilful and played in such a friendly spirit. The players look happy, and when goals are scored there are no great histrionics, just smiles and congratulations.

Like mainstream football used to be like, before money took over.

I agree bainbigg, at one time i felt that it was amateurish and made poor viewing, but in the last decade, the skills have improved and I quite enjoy women's football.
I completely disagree. I find it amateurish and a very poor relation to the men's game. Technically they're poor compared to the men.

Same with rugby. I find women's rugby awful.

I applaud them for.playing both games, but compared to men the games are rubbish.

Viewing figures confirm this.

That's it. We're finished.
^^^agreed.

You miss so much, desk. In this instance the sheer ENJOYMENT of a top-class women’s game. The players are playing for the joy of it, for the fun of it, for the love of it.

How different from the men’s game, where po-faced blokes look as if it’s World War III, and then pocket obscene sums of money!

Patronising garbage. It only gets prominence because it's women playing a mans game. It's no good. Pony tail football lacking skill, intensity and physicality. Any decent Saturday/Sunday Amateur League team would wipe the floor with any of them. It's being indulged by people just because it's women, as I've said. No other reason.
Totally wrong, 10C. If it's being 'indulged', as you claim, then it's not because it's women. It's because it's football, our national sport. And yes, the quality has improved over the last 10 years or so. Hopefully it will continue to do so.
Why don't they play in the Premier League? Why don't women play in the Six Nations? Why don't women play in Test Cricket? Because they're women! They're only fit for pony tail sports. And they're garbage. Anyone that says anything else is just being patronising. If you want to watch it, ok, watch it but recognise the fact that it's just female gubbins.

10Clarion. Well, anyone, male or female, who thinks that Women's Lib is outdated and unnecessary should read your patronising rubbish.

Makes me sick to think I share the same gender as you, pal.

Thanks Brian. I think I just said all that in a different way!
BB, it comes down to quality. Womens' Sport doesn't have it and can't match the male sports. If people can't see that and just want to patronise women about how good and skillful they are, that's even worse.
I just love this web site! :o)

Sorry Brianna. It's not about sexism or being sexist. It's about skill and ability. Women don't have the same qualities, which makes me wonder why anyone would want to watch womens' sports, unless you had a relative taking part. It's all just patronising guff.
The fact that the gals can play the game for 90 minutes without recourse to cheating by falling to the ground at the first hint of an opponent in the same county is enough for me to rate it.

Very little of the galumphing idiot self praising, chest out and punching the air as if he's just cured cancer instead of kicking a lightweight ball past an acrobat.

Clarion....have you seen some women's football skills? Youtube it. Just their keepy uppy skills is impressive.
I'm so relieved we have people like Clarion around to remind us of just how much progress has been made lately.
