Yep I read that was what they were doing very early on Jno. BTW every time I type your 3 initials I get Jon and have to alter it. Annoying. Can you change them please;-))
sorry, ladybirder, they were ill chosen. I was thinking of naming myself after this actress in future

(I saw her in a film last night and she was brilliant)

Oh good. Must take some courage to go into a building with the roof on fire.
// Heart-rendingly symbolic. The death of Christian civilisation in Europe.//

excuse me - christianity is not a building and or series of buildings
didnt Tyndale translate 'ecclesia' as congregacion ? (1525)
v-e should know this sort of thing

Ha, I'll watch for that J.n.o.
Absolutely devastating. It’s been stood for 850 years :(
//Christianity is not a building and or series of buildings//

Neither is it a cross. Although the one is a symbol of the other.

Geddit?

Don't know about "congregation". The "church" is the "body of Christ". No, not the wafer, the people. The "communion of saints" is the more common term, buyt conveys the same meaning as Tynedale's "congregation".

If you see wot I mean, innit.
The Fire Service believe they’ve saved the structure of the building.
As long as the iconic bell towers remain, that’s the best one can hope for.
Just watching it on the news. They say they believe all of the timber structure inside has been destroyed but the main stone building appears to be saved.
Say what you will about the DM, but they do great pictures.
For those who have never been inside Notre Dame or those who would like to see it again.

lol, ladybirder, they were lucky to get those ones of the hunchback...
Bad joke time?

"That man's face rings a bell...dead ringer for his brother."
Ladybirder those photos are stunning.....
I hope they can save as much as possible.
they're saying it hasn't been completely destroyed and the north tower has been saved.
v-e, since the spire was the first thing to go, I wonder if God isn't punishing the sins of the flèche?
It’s such a tragedy!! My late husband and I visited it in the 90’s. It was absolutely stunning inside. :’(
Don't know about "congregation". - -

well you should know ....

"7 Oct 2008 - Vnto the congregacion of the Tessalonyans which are in God oure father and in the Lorde Iesus Christ. 2 Grace be with you and peace from ..." - big thing with Tyndale with his fresh reforming zeal back then (1540)

//Bad joke time? "That man's face rings a bell...dead ringer for his brother."// anon
no no please stop! (in the name of God): "Cry 'Havoc!,' and let slip the po-faced dogs of war."

Baldric that is a cue for you to write some castigating comment about the fliappancy and half-witted ness of the less endowed members of the AB community. academically endowed that is (me I am referring to me)
// v-e, since the spire was the first thing to go..... //
bad jno - flippant, er unfunny and freaky and something else beginning wiv 'f'
pucker your cheeks, suck your bum in and clench your buttocks - stand in the corner

I wanted to ask - DId Angela Merkel say - "Paris brandt?"
