Referring to convicted sex offender Adam Johnson possible return to top class football, Sky Sport's Gordon Strachan, asked this.

/// 'If he goes on to the pitch and people start calling him names, have we got to do the same as it is to the racist situation? Is it all right to call him names now after doing his three years - have we got to allow that to happen?' ///

I may be proven wrong but the chances of AJ making a comeback to 'top class' football are extremely small. Nothing to stop it being a topic for discussion on SKY but broaching the subject at all was inviting trouble and embarrassment all round. Strachan is a victim of circumstances. He gave a valid view which revolves around abuse in general towards a player(s)...

He should not be sacked for asking that question. A very good question and obviously Adam will get shouted at, so its something the players and fans need to know
adams a nonce anyway
Maybe outraged of Brixton could try to answer the question instead of hanging whitey out to dry.

What a world we're creating.
His question makes no sense anyway. Well, the first part at least. I’m not sure he really knows what he’s talking about.

I wonder what would have happened if the sex offender also happened to be a black footballer?
That's for Sky to decide. If they believe their ratings will suffer, he'll be out the door. Let's face it, it was a rather stupid analogy. Strachan certainly ain't no sage.

Let me try and explain it to you Zacs, Is it right to call this white footballer names, when there is such a outcry over calling black footballers names?
Just clumsy wording but that's plenty enough for some to milk it for what it's worth.
Or he’d been a transsexual !
Or a Muslim!
Or an economic migrant!

Why do you have to conjure up imaginary scenarios which have no relevance to the story?
"I wonder what would have happened if the sex offender also happened to be a black footballer?"

Erm. He would have been sent to prison, served his time and been released. What else might have happened, aog?
No, sorry. There’s no logic there, even after your explanation. Anyone who thinks it’s ok to shout abuse at anyone is a cretin. Anyone who’s ever been to a football match knows it’s endemic.
There is a law in place that makes it illegal to racially abuse a person.

There is no such law in place to protect people of any race or colour who choose to commit crime from name calling.

You cannot compare a sex offender with an innocent person of colour.

You are missing the point Ken, he would have also stood the chance of being called names, would that have also been right?

Do you really think that is the point Strachan was making?
I doubt he will be calling on you to represent him AOG.
I think you’ve (rather contortedly) made my point. It’s not ok to shout abuse at anyone. That’s why I’ve said Strachan’s point doesn’t make sense. To try and debate whether one form of verbal abuse is better than another is plain daft.

As regards name calling, yes I couldn't agree more with you.

But what Gordon Strachan was asking would the same action be taken over name calling towards Adam Johnson as it is against name calling against black players?
// His question makes no sense anyway. Well, the first part at least. I’m not sure he really knows what he’s talking about.//

AOG is a bit like this ZM

big dichotomy - if two men go out onto the field
and one shouts nonce and
the other shouts pocky

is one a criminal and the other not

hard question that one ..... ho hum it is a slow Sunday am on AB - sanity may or may not supervene later on in the day....

This is what he asked:

/// 'If he goes on to the pitch and people start calling him names, have we got to do the same as it is to the racist situation? ///
o god this is laboured

yeah and if one footie player - his muvva sells flowers outside the stadium
and someone shouts inside - hello pansy!

if that a gay come-on or is it treason ?
and should they be deported if the muvva speaks Urdu?

jesus

So it would be in order for some yobs to shout "PAEDOPHILE!!!!"

When he is obviously not, even though some of the media seem to get away with it, including the Mail.
