Well, given that a lot of the targets used by HM Forces are of a running Russian soldier it’s not a million miles way from what they’re used to.

Oh how some ABers are getting upset because their leader is the target of four soldiers having a bit of target practice fun, are they really saying that these lads would take pot shots at the real person?

I suppose if their target had been a picture of President Trump or Margaret Thatcher these same Abers would be cock a hoop?
A storm in a teacup.
Literally dragged, eh? Rubbish. You're exaggerating enormously. He's done plenty of events with veterans just as all opposition leaders do.

I stress I'm no fan of Corbyn. I think he's a useless leader with completely unrealistic principles who has allowed antisemitism to creep into a great party. These things are inexcusable in a serious politician. But you can't just make stuff up - especially not extreme lies like saying he'd prefer soldiers to be dead over terrorists. It's an emotive lie used by the loony right to legitimise political violence.
Kromo // He's done plenty of events with veterans just as all opposition leaders do.//
Some examples?
One famous example, right as he was being damned in the press for not attending a CIP lunch:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/remembrance-sunday-jeremy-corbyn-skipped-vip-lunch-to-stay-behind-after-ceremony-and-applaud-wwii-a6726591.html

Even if he didn't, though, that the idea that it's perfectly normal for soldiers to be firing at images of the opposition leader is bunk. This is not normal and should not become normal. Clearly the army agrees as they are investigating it.

Kromo, have you never heard of images of certain people being pasted on dartboards? Whether Corbyn did, or did not, attend any veteran's events is neither here or there.
aog, //I suppose if their target had been a picture of President Trump or Margaret Thatcher these same Abers would be cock a hoop?//

Just what I was thinking.
Of course I have. What of it? The army is supposed to be apolitical for the very important reason that if it wasn't then our democracy would be unworkable. The fact that this is being done in a period where far-right terrorists have targeted Labour politicians, successfully and unsuccessfully, makes this an inappropriate thing for soldiers to do imo.
Jacob Rees-Mogg was not impressed by this when asked. So, jokes aside, good for him.
I can't say I would be terribly happy about UK soldiers firing at a picture of Donald Trump, no.
As I said earlier, a storm in a teacup.
Before criticising 4 of our brave lads for having a bit of relaxing fun, perhaps some would wish to read the words of Rudyard Kipling:

Oh, think of Tommy Atkins when from home far away,
Lying on the battlefield, earth’s cold clay;
And a stone or his knapsack pillowing his head,
And his comrades lying near by him wounded and dead.

And while lying there, poor fellow, he thinks of his wife at home,
And his heart bleeds at the thought, and he does moan;
And down his cheek flows many a silent tear,
When he thinks of his friends and children dear.

Kind Christians, think of him when far, far away,
Fighting for his Queen and Country without dismay;
May God protect him wherever he goes,
And give him strength to conquer his foes.
I wonder if the gallant Tommy ever indulged in some controversial target practice?
>> Just a minor prank that could cause a sizeable number of the British people who voted for the party led by this guy to lose a bit of faith in the impartiality of their armed forces
> As I said, given who he’s chosen as his bedfellows you’d be hard pressed to find ANY member of HM Forces who’d care a jot about him

The point is that the armed forces are supposed to be impartial. This incident and comments like the above shows behaviour and attitudes that are NOT impartial. The armed forces, as a whole, therefore cannot tolerate that kind of behaviour and attitudes. And they're not tolerating it.
Ellipsis, the army isimpartial. Individuals in the army are not,and are not expected to be.
Who cares about Cob's "feelings". Ahhh diddum's. Seems like I still have my stalker mind. :))
