They'll only get the extension if Parliament approves the deal as is. That seems unlikely given the numbers, so shall I order the champagne for next Friday?

Not a nice English sparkling wine?

Is that not the point of this farce?
Not French EU champagne i hope.
I wouldn't say it's ineviatble. May will probably lose the vote but the EU may still make a last minute move- eg a much longer extension.
No, not yet.
I wouldn’t be too hasty.
A member of the EU’s Brexit steering committee has been saying that he thinks Donald Tusk and co would permit a further extension to allow the UK to come up with an alternative plan.
May’s not going to get that deal through now. She killed that chance off last night.
And one wonders why they have brought the extension date forward seemingly to 7 May
Plenty of other fizz and beverages available outside European countries.
Mr Tim Martin has sourced a perfectly acceptable Jagermeister (Germany)asa replacement for a Strika (UK). Like wise Ozz bubbly. The frogs do not have the monopoly on fizz or cheese it would appear.
There are still some people in the UK who have the bottle and courage to find alternatives to what has been virtually thrust down our throats and pathetic cowardly lap dogs still want to dance to the EU's tune.
I have Chinese fireworks to hand Retro. They will be fired sky high. Although the warnings do recommend not pointing them at buildings or people. (^_*)
Intemperate, that's a good word.
oh God, free-tee is ringing his bell !
soon ( Friday ) he will be wringing his hands ....

Not inevitable. You will be aware how treacherous undemocratic MPs are. But I've been indicating here for some time now that it's heading that way. Just have to wait and see. Maybe the EU will relent in order to make it the end of May
Do you mean the Month or P.M. OG?
Think he meant Mrs May.
It's hard to see her sticking around for much longer. It'd be a relief for her I think
The only certain thing is there will definitely be more uncertainty.
Talking about MPs as "treacherous" is absolute nonsense and wholly inappropriate.
Perfectly appropriate given their attempts to thwart Brexit. Just because you approve of their behaviour doesn't make it right.
No. Because sadly the Brexiteer MPs will cave and sign up to the worst deal ever in the history of the world.

If they don’t and the deal is thrown out again the remainextremists will have someth8ng up their sleeves to skipper it. The more desperate they are the more devious they become.
Mrs May needs a miracle. If anything, another vote could well see MP's who decided to back her deal having initially not done so,changing their mind again after last nights fiasco.

It's not right, OG. I can only remember there only being to boxes on the referendum voting slip, in or out no third box half in half out.
Let's just remember that before the referendum an MP was shot dead, by a man screaming "Death to traitors." Whether you approve of their actions or not, anything -- anything -- that gets even close to agreeing with the idea that MPs are traitors shouldn't even be mentioned. It's despicable.
It's despicable to act against the stated requirement of the people too. Trust in the present system is at an all time low.
