Not really a subject to make jokes about.
Handy that it was lazy and completely devoid of humour then, danny.
AOG i think if anything.. What that photo shows is the very serious scooter epidemic. ;)
I doubt their will be much investment in the idea.
I feel sorry for the muslim at MGS ( now dead ) who was stabbed by two kids from St Posh's

both fee paying - and in court today. I dont know what the head masters are saying - christ these kids have O levels and can read and write .....

clearly today the sword is mightier than the pen ....

the cartoon points out that not every ,measure ( such as hem hem more police on the streets) is an appropriate measure for the problem

subtle I call it - but uvvuz on AB may have different thoughts

Have you two never heard of satire?

Perhaps one has to go to extreme measures in times of danger.

In World War 2 all children carried a gas mask to school, but not one child was gassed, unlike today when more and more kids are killed or injured in stabbings.
// Handy that it was lazy and completely devoid of humour then, danny.//

you mean that the cartoon was cheap and useless in its objective to show that the measures agreed yesterday were expensive but useless
Of course I have heard of satire, but it is inappropriate in view of the many lives that have been lost.

My post was addressed to dannyk13 and douglas9401.

// Have you two never heard of satire? //
yeah - no - I agree the cartoon satirises useless measures

have you never learnt to read ?
I'm sure if parents feel the need for their children to wear stab proof vests on the way to school or even whilst at school then they will provide them privately. I can't imagine the education system dishing em out.
And my reply was addressed to you.
I didn’t think the cartoon funny, but I don't think it’s meant to be. Rather than inappropriate, it's simply a harshly graphic indictment of the appalling escalation in knife crime.
//whilst at school then they will provide them privately.//

Blimey, once it was free school milk and now stab vests! The age we live in!!
// but it is inappropriate in view of the many lives that have been lost.//

erm sorry Low drew a cartoon of a ship wrecked - torpedoed merchant seaman in 1941 with the title
the price of butter to rise 1d

and churchill wanted to imprison him ( he wasnt )

And have you never learnt to post in understandable English?
// it's simply a harshly graphic indictment of the appalling escalation in knife crime.//

AND of the high viz but useless measures to combat it
Question Author
My parents provide me with a school mac to save me from getting wet, walking back and forward to school.

Today in some areas, I am sure it would be a good idea for caring parents to provide their children with stab vest, so as to protect them from being stabbed.
// And have you never learnt to post in understandable English? //
oh dear
there was this fellow and he used to draw things.
and they were good so the newspapers bought them and published them.
and his name was David Low
and there was a war - that is when lots of people shoot rifles at each other.
and the english lost a lot of ships - and that wasnt thro rifle ( gun ) fire but something else
and the price of groceries ( fings you buy in shops) went up because there were shortages

and Low - Low he was the drawer remember drew a picture of a man dragging himself onto a crate in the sea (= large a mount of water -swimming pool only MUCH bigger )

under neef Low wrote - the price of butter rises 1d
that is old money and means one pence

and the head master got angry and wanted to put him in prison
but Low wouldnt go
the end
// it would be a good idea for caring parents to provide their children with stab vest, so as to protect them from being stabbed.//

eek dear old AOG asks if anyone understands the concept of satire and clearly doesnt understand the idea himself

hey ho this is AB
