The Democrates will be going hell for leather to get this overturned.

Will Trump get his wall?

Look at the Democrates as 1 hypocrites and 2 just a bit like remainextremists. (I lost but will do and try anything to get my own way)

The Democrats did pretty well in the most recent elections. They're doing what their constituents want.

Is there a link?
They can't do much. According to the BBC they need both Houses to vote to stop it and then it needs the president to agree and sign to stop it as well.
Trumps wall may have been a campaign promise but it's also a completely unachievable pipe dream. Unfortunately, democracy can't win against reality.
Trump's 'Wall' was a typical Trump election stunt - let's say we'll do it, and since we're not going to win anyway, it doesn't matter because we'll never have to …

Oh heck ….
id put odds on, he get his wall built, and that he gets re-elected
it's only the liberals and socialists who disagree, we have similar ilk here..human rights act or criminals charter advocates.
I think he will get a 'wall' built. In reality it doesn't have to be bricks and mortar its a fence or an electronic wall.

I think he may well get his wall. Getting Mexico to pay for it might prove more tricky.
I don't think it was an election stunt. He'll get it built and good for him.

Indeed, a style of politics we’ve rarely seen: a politician hell bent on delivering on the promises on which he was elected.
That is what appears to rankle most with his detractors.

I was thinking more that the Democrates will block it at every level they can.
Remainextremeists. ..... did you make that word up. :’)
imagine corbyn going against trump on a verbal spar.. i know who would get points for leadership and vision.
Had it been an election stunt, with the opposition he's encountered, he's had plenty of opportunity to simply renege on the promise. He hasn't.
Let's say someone is, for whatever reason, determined on some course of action and that you do not want to be involved in it or affected by it and moreover you also genuinely believe that it is so wrong that it will adversely affect even the proponent - what would you do ? Would you resist at least to the extent you will be affected or would you provide active support and cheer the other person on ? Whatever your answer, I think people would at least inwardly admit that they would do nothing to bring about the success of the other person's intentions.
He promised a 'great, great wall' with a 'big beautiful door' and that Mexico was going to pay for it. He said 'nobody builds walls better than me, and I'll build them very inexpensively.' He promised it would be concrete and be 40-50 feet high. He effectively promised something akin to the Berlin Wall (150km and about 13ft high) stretching across the USA's entire southern border (about 1500km excluding natural barriers). Homeland Security estimates the cost of that to be about $21-$25 billion - quite possibly much higher.
It seems to me that an awful lot of people are awfully disappointed that he’s not given in.
It's a short-sighted decision to try to use National Emergency powers to fund something that it manifestly not a National Emergency. If he succeeds then it completely destroys the principle behind such powers, and probably opens the door to further such abuses in future.

Should that be the case, I expect it will be dealt with as and when.
