Interesting story. What do you think - if you give permission for someone to cut your ear off, should they be prosecuted for doing it?

Yep.
MAABOF!
the law is straighforward on this

you cant consent to GBH ( or murder ) so consent is NOT the get out of jail free card people think

decided in the car jack case - the police - fresh from terrorism and shooting people - found videos of men stuffing car jacks up other mens bottoms
held - you cannot consent to GBH
maabof - foo!
right o !
Peter - is that the origin of the expression 'jacking off'?
Regardless of consent, which as Peter says counts for nothing here - of course he should be prosecuted and the grey areas well and truly sorted out.
Given the range of things people put up their behinds, I wonder what harm was done and how grievous it was.
It seems to me that you can legally consent to mutilation if the mutilator is properly licensed and qualified.
I think we have to be careful how far we regulate things which most wouldn't want done to them but a few would, otherwise we'll end up with very boring bodies and very boring sex lives :) x
why do people need half a pound of scrap and tough stickers to have un "boring bodies"?
They don't, but it is their choice I believe to have alternative looks if they so desire. It's the same with S&M sex, it's not for everyone, but those it is for it suits completely and shouldn't be anyone else's business.
Not sure where consensual mutilation comes into sex lives .... not sure I want to know either.
Yes. And the disfigured needs sectioning.
TTT these cases weren't piercings or tattoos but body modification/mutilations.

Regarding why people do it, you'd need to ask the individual - those I have conversed with each have their own reasons.
// It seems to me that you can legally consent to mutilation if the mutilator is properly licensed and qualified.//

oh you mean like a private consultant surgeon -
ter daaah !
I was just comparing the two because they both involve consent to things some people might not be comfortable with Naomi.
With regards to 'the disfigured'- how far do you take it, anyone who has horns, or has had a boob job? People who have tattoos, facial piercings, their ears pierced? By definition it's personal to the individual what people consider disfiguring.
Yes, he should be prosecuted. I thought the first rule of doctors was ‘Do no harm.’
// Peter - is that the origin of the expression 'jacking off'?//
ow! I hope not
// I thought the first rule of doctors was ‘Do no harm.’//

er he wasnt that kind of doctor - only in the terms of Dr Feelgood, Dr Dredd, etc
Clover, he isn't a doctor.
