"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

TCL - great minds think alike - I was just about to post the same!

Bless them all - especially my dear Grandad who died in WW1 & is buried in Ypres.

smudge we should all be grateful for those like yir Grandfather who were willing to fight for their country.

He was a brave, brave man and you should be proud of him.

no words to add really but just a respectful post to all britains armed forces dead, on foreign soil and here at home.
TCL-Couldnt have put it better.I have tears in my eyes at your sentiment.God Bless Them All.

We MUST remember them - and learn from them. So that we never have to experience what they had to experience.

I am indeed very proud of my Grandad TCL. Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet him, but he lived on in the four very young sons he left behind - my Dad being one of them.

Whenever I look at a photo of him in his uniform, ciggie in hand, he still seems so 'alive' to me - perhaps because he was only a young man when he was killed.

With Greatest Respect...

Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I am proud of my father, who served in WW2,and for all those who served, like him, that others may have the life they enjoy today, please remember, and thank!!

My father fought in the 2nd world war, my grandfather in the 1st, if it wasn't for tthese people, standing up tp tyranny, we wouldn't have the freedoms we have now.

Never let them be forgotton.

God Bless Then All ,WE WILL REMEMBER THEM .

British soldiers in the Far East are often called the "forgotten army". my father fought against the japanese in burma.Id just like to post a photo of my dad in rememberance.1917-1977.

here.

respect
What a great photo Vinny. What brave men they were. We will remember them.
Those people gave their lives. You can't give more than that. How do we repay that debt?

I think we owe it to them to see that the differences between people are insignificant, no matter what some people would have us believe. What we have in common - your average Englishman, German, christian, muslim, jew etc - far outweighs what divides us. So we shouldn't ever again let so-called "leaders" whip us up into nationalistic/racist intolerance and hatred for other nations/races. We are all human, we are all put on this earth for just a short time, we don't know why we are here, and we should just try and do something good with what we've been given - a little good or a great good, whatever we are capable of - and live and let live.
We will remember tthem

Morning Everyone.......yes we will indeed remember them all......from every conflict past and present!
