There's the answer, see, Zacs. Mr Corbyn (should the electorate be foolhardy enough to see him into office) will last five years maximum if voters don't like what he does. He can be voted in; he can be voted out. No such choices with EU Apparatchiks.
ZM: "Surely you’d care if Corbyn got power on the back of it? " - nope, I care that we get a proper brexit, not a brino. I dont care after that, if the people choose Agent Cob that's their choice but regardless of brexit all this talk about a commons VONC bringing down the government is pie in the sky. Even if we leave with no deal, even if the tories have a civil war, they are still in until they lose a VONC or 2022. Regardless of internal splits they'll never back a VONC and neither will the DUP. Hence unscheduled GE very unlikely.
The Country voted to Leave. They didn't vote on how to leave. Similarly the Remain voters didn't vote on how to remain. The options simply weren't available. Cameron shot us all in the foot for purely personal reasons.

Ironically the Leave vote (if not binding) could have been used as a very strong weapon to thrash out a better Remain deal with the EU rather than rushing into signing Article 50 - we could have done that later if a better Remain deal was unavailable.

The whole affair has been very badly handled by the Government, and the resulting fallout has been, and will continue to be damaging to the country whichever way we go now. If we leave, the damage already occurring will continue, if we stay we will be at the mercy of an unforgiving EU. It's enough to turn a Remainer into a Leaver.
I have been watching the developments with increasing horror and disbelief over the last few weeks and can scarcely put into words what I feel about the treachery of the people that we have allowed to make comfortable lives for themselves at our expense. Not even short term expense, but at the for ever expense of future generations and the indelible stain on the deserved reputation of Britain as a beacon of hope and an example of justice, democracy and fair play the World wide. I have however found a man, on another forum who has the ability to elucidate exactly what I feel. I will, with apologies to him, repeat it here.

""Parliament, thy name is Treason and so it shall be recorded. Where both Napoleon and Hitler tried and failed, you are now close to succeeding by surrendering the UK and handing it over to the new Axis Alliance.
As I look back consumed by nostalgia I remember that as a boy and young man I was taught by men and women of strong but gentle character who had either fought through the war, sometimes both wars, or, if too old or infirm, had pursued their profession steadfastly under a rain of bombs whilst they and their students survived on a meagre diet bereft of all luxury, but one never short on love or patriotism. Consequently, we boys and girls began to understand the meaning of freedom and the high price those who had gone before us had paid for it. We were lifted up on the shoulders of giants and now in the early winter of our years we find those same shoulders have been shattered and cast aside by pygmies.
In the political arena those we elected to represent us had actively served their country one way or the other and thus fully understood the meaning and mechanisms of tyranny, and they conducted their business on behalf of the electorate accordingly. Now, they too no longer exist — into their huge shoes have stepped the tiny feet of at least two generations of traitors who have been selling us to the highest foreign bidder or invasive terrorist either for votes or thirty pieces of silver.
Today our education system is nothing more than a Marxist-Socialist-Islamofascist propaganda collective. From primary school, through secondary school and up to what were once seats of higher learning the rot has permeated beyond reversal. Nothing short of the complete reframing of all current syllabi, the ruthlessly clinical removal from all levels of the academic establishment of those indoctrinating yet more generations and then a rebuild from the ground up is the demanding necessity and only that will suffice.
Our once trusted, world-renowned ‘Bobbies’ have become nothing more than uniformed thugs whose Common-Purposed function is to persecute any long-heritage native citizen who objects to his or her ethnic cleansing. This whilst the detection and prosecution of real crimes is reduced to nothing more than a subsidiary function. The legal profession is, as always, no better and is doing rather well out of it all, thank you, even before they slither into the Commons, the Lords or a well remunerated Quango.
End of days, people, end of days, because all the above have also been infiltrated by the many-hued invasive Fifth Columnists of the New World Order who are protected by those who in positions of leadership would, in any morally functional government, be rejecting them with absolute abhorrence. The Long March Through the Institutions is almost complete.
In the final analysis I know where I will stand, where it will take me and roughly when I will fall, but I care not because I have nothing left to lose but my children’s chains and perhaps then somebody, younger and fitter, will pick up the torch. You, too, have a similar decision to make, or will you dither in the comfort of your temporary affluence and quasi freedom until it is too late to make any decision at all?""

Brother Anthony.
As far as I'm concerned, for what it's worth, this MP is a right PLONKER !!
hereiam, Do you not recognise the truth when you read it?
‘what I feel about the treachery of the people that we have allowed to make comfortable lives for themselves at our expense’

The very people you want to hand complete power to?

You need to decide whether the EU are the baddies, or our own Govt. You would seem to be in a position of perplexed conflict.
Yes quite right ZM....but they can be voted out when they dont perform. (I thought the remainers were supposed to be of superior intellect)
oh dear ryzen, you've fallen into ZM's favourite subject, prepare to nail some jelly to the wall.
Who in heck is Brother Anthony and why is it worth posting such utter rubbish anyway?
"The very people you want to hand complete power to?"

Not complete power, Zacs. Only temporary power until we no longer like the cut of their jib. Then we can vote them out and elect another bunch of charlatans and no-hopers. But the crucial point is that they are the charlatans and no-hopers that the electorate choose, not a bunch of civil servants foisted upon them.
//The very people you want to hand complete power to? //

It is obvious that our current crop of would be politicians have been corrupted by the EUSSR bribery chain. We can boot the slavish greedy lot out. We will not have any prospect of "voting" the slimy Brussels version out......ever. There will be only one way left to rid ourselves of a new slave regime. It will not happen on so shal meedya sites either.
You’re all delusional. Imagining there are a bunch of altruistic, loyal and well intentioned MPs or potential MPs around the corner. Sheer fantasy and a very thin line of reasoning for the people Togo criticises with such vehemence.
judge; "But the crucial point is that they are the charlatans and no-hopers that the electorate choose, not a bunch of civil servants foisted upon them. " - that's about the 1000th time he's bee told that!
ZM: "You’re all delusional. Imagining there are a bunch of altruistic, loyal and well intentioned MPs or potential MPs around the corner." - who said that? ever? as the judge said, we know mostly they are a useless shower, the point is, and you seem incapable of grasping this, that they are our elected useless shower.
"You’re all delusional. Imagining there are a bunch of altruistic, loyal and well intentioned MPs or potential MPs around the corner. "

I don't imagine any such thing, Zacs (see my description). But we've done this argument once or twice before. You don't understand why I'd prefer to be governed by a Parliament of crooks, shysters and charlatans whom we can dismiss periodically. I can't understand why you'd prefer a Politburo of unelected foreigners whom we can't.
danny - YES !
Do Screwfix do jelly nails...or have they become a dating agency?
Put like that I’d prefer the latter NJ. Not that I agree with the description.
//Who in heck is Brother Anthony //

I don't know jim, but he sounds as though he has had more experience of life than you have.
