But now that an arch remainextremist has been called a nasty name suddenly it’s all getting a bit unnecessary.

I wouldn’t call Soubry a Nazi by any stretch of the imagination but I would call her an arrogant condescending *** who belittles leavers and her own constituents to a breath taking degree.

You don’t make your point by shouting abuse. You do not validate your point, it indicates you have lost the argument and it gives extra veracity to their views
It will be up to the constituents of Broxtowe to decide if she has/not represented their views
While I may not agree with her views she has the right to hold them and express them
Would it have made the news if the protesters had been shouting . “Excuse me but really we don’t agree with you and we would like out opinions heard if that was possible “. Nah don’t think so .
I don't like to see anyone, men or women, having to face verbal (no one has been touched) abuse while going about their business, but some blame has to be levelled at Teresa May's lies, obfuscations and dalliance which is producing unrest and uncertainty throughout the country and the wider world.
Two years ago, the government was given a clear mandate to leave the EU and she is doing everything she can to thwart the departure. She is disgrace, and the worst PM I have ever seen.
This female wheather you agree with her politics or not, was abused and intimidated on the streets of London. Totally unacceptable.
You shouldn't be hassled by shouty idiots whilst walking to work whether you're a plumber or an MP.

Very true, Talbot!
The woman must have been really scared, and the Police did not seem much help to her, that lot should be locked up.
Shame on the met police for apparently, doing absolutely nothing. Is it not in their job description ?
Teresa Mays's hope that it will all somehow fade away through boredom on the part of the public, could be in for a jolt;

I agree. The police should have done more, especially when you consider what happened to Jo Cox.
To me, those involved are nothing more than loud mouthed hooligans. Protest by all means, but to use such name calling goes beyond the realms of decency. It was clearly meant to intimidate and it needs robust action from the authorities. Nothing to do with free speech, just nasty, shameful and silly behaviour. I agree with free speech, but not when it's used like that. Anyone who behaves like that, no matter what side of the fence they sit on, should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. It's the same on here. People use derogatory terms and swearwords. Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and realise that they come across as louts.
Can't raise the enthusiasm to read it all, but:

There has to be a limit to what protestors are allowed to do; however any politician that gets uptight about being called names, is in the wrong profession.

What exact laws were broken meaning Plod could intervene?

And if we introduce laws to stop people getting close, could it appear to the left (Re what happened to JRM) and Vegans (RE recent restaurant protests?

'an arch remainextremist has been called a nasty name '

Oh, the irony.
Question Author
Yes Zac. The irony of a name caller being called a name they don’t like.

And your point?
Mmm. So you'd like an explanation of why a post about things getting 'a bit unecessary' due to name calling but which contains the demeaning term 'remainextremist' is ironic.

I'll give you a second chance to think about that.
Ganging up on people in the street, shouting abuse at them and using intimidation tactics is not part of the democratic process. It is shocking behaviour and has no place in a civilized society.

Also, cassa, 'remainextremist' isn't going to catch on. It's not even a proper portmanteau like 'Remoaner' is.

Section 5, Public Order, if memory serves.

‘Behaviour likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress’.
Well within the remit of a Policeman outside Parliament I’d say!
Poor sour belly Soubry, someone gave her a bit of her own. Bless. Remember the jibes and insults from her corrupt cabal?
""I want to be in a situation where no Tory MP… can travel anywhere in the country, can show their face anywhere in the country, without being hounded"".
John McDonnell
Farage going to Edinburgh and being attacked by a mob of 80 people in the street, [receiving] language and abuse far worse and intimidation far worse than we saw yesterday, and I was told by Alex Salmond, the First Minister of Scotland [at the time], that he basically deserved it?
Remember Jacob Rees-Mogg and his family at their London home, and "protester"s warning his children that "lots of people hate your daddy, do you know that?"
Didn't Sourbelly herself insult Farage with a reference to him liking homosexual practices?
Not only that, but when it was happening she was laughing. On reflection she thought...….hmmm time for my icckle girlie whirly voice and a bit of political mischief. Meehh
