It depends on people's reasons for being vegan. If it's just for health reasons, they might have no problem eating a vegan sausage roll from a company that makes lots of meats products. If it's for moral reasons, then yes, it doesn't make much sense to do the same.

Can a vegan really support a company that makes its living from selling meat rolls? Surely supporting the company is as bad as supporting the product?
Your point?
Question Author
sorry i thought that was evident..

My point is vegans need to leave companies alone and start their own.

Whats the point of a company selling a vegan range if on a whole they still distribute millions of sausage rolls a day?

Your're still supporting that regardless of the product you buy. So you're not technically a vegan..
Question Author
i have a big issue with the label.. If think if you're going to use it you should respect it and completely support it. IE, no driving, no supporting companies that use meat and animals, that is not vegan. This sausage roll is not vegan, it's meat free.
Meat is not murder. Murder only applies to the unlawful killing of a human being.

Do vegans always buy their food from vegan shops? The couple that I have known buy their food from supermarkets that also sell meat.

Gregg's has responded to a demand from PETA. If vegans want a snack while they're out they might want to buy a vegan sausage roll.

vegans wanting sausage rolls... I guess they're the pleasures you have to give up.

Or, you can try and warp a mushroom into a sausage.. but if you're vegan for health reasons, i'm sure food processed to that level is just as bad as meat.
All slaughtering of animals is now licensed, if we were not conivars our teeth would not be how they are?
Question Author
Well.. some say our teeth are made to eat nuts and berries.. If that was the case, then why do we have such a demand for b12 in our systems?

https://www.peta.org/features/are-humans-supposed-to-eat-meat/

People like to make up tripe to support their views. Fact is our mind makes us the hunters we are, anyhow.. Monkeys are omnivores.

A vegans argument also is, if someone bought a pig into your room, you couldn't kill it and eat it with your two hands. Another pathetically trivial point. where as an apple, you would just eat it.

'u gotta cook potatoes dough'
Morality is personal, for everyone, about everything.

The adult way to live in a free society is to accept that other people will and do have differing opinions to what you as an individual think of as being right and wrong.

It comes down to choices, making your own, and respecting the rights of others to make theirs.
Unsure what "supposed" has to do with it.
Evolution is simply "what works" there is no predetermined goal and route there.
Can't be bothered to read all the 2nd link article. One immediately knows it's nonsense when it talks about screaming animals being pulled apart. No abattoir is licenced to do that. And they seem unable to understand humans are omnivores not carnivores. (Probably tells you all you need to know about PETA.)
//It depends on people's reasons for being vegan. //

in my experience, there seems to be only one reason - a licenced ability to position yourself 2 inches from your target, and then scream "I'M A VEGAN!! DID YOU NOT KNOW?"
It will be interesting to see how well they sell.

One thing I find odd is PETA leaning on Greggs. Do they honestly think the patrons of this excellent purveyor of pastries to go veggie/vegan? Also do they really think vegans (veggies may well do as they tend to be more sane) to go into a Greggs?

I find both highly unlikely.
In man’s distant past he ate whatever ever he could get his hands on. That included his fellow man. Now, that, was murder.
who are you to say what vegans should or should not do?
Question Author
"Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals."

therefor, supporting a company/ brand that doesn't, (IE, prides themselves on their sausage rolls, almost exists entirely due to them and steak bakes) strips you from your vegan title.

And woof, i'm not but then imagine a true vegan, being defamed by a person who wants to claim the title, yet not support the true ideologies?

The title veganism has said what they can and can't do long before i was born.
Strangely enough mushroom, that's NEVER happened to me, or anybody I know, for that matter !
"who are you to say what vegans should or should not do?"

One might also ask 'who are vegans to say what everybody else should or should not do?'

Extremists of all stripes are a pain.
