The feelings for the EU, one way or another, are of course cross party (Apart from the lib dems and who cares about them?).

So why all the Tory bashing? And what exactly do labour stand for?

read all about it.....

of course, not being in power means never having to explain yourself, so what that all means, well, who knows?
The Tories are being 'bashed' because it is they who are making a pig's ear of Brexit while squabbling like schoolkids in a playground. If Labour were in charge and doing such a bad job, it would be they who were getting bashed.
Yes they are. The splits over Europe just the same in Labour. They also have the ever present split of Corbyn/Blairite to deal with.

The fact is the attention is off them for the moment because the pressure to deliver Brexit is focused on the Tory govt. Corbyn is in his comfort zone of opposing stuff rather than being responsible for delivering anything.

If the Labour party in it's current state gets into power, the current shambles won't seem half as bad as it does now.
The tories are being 'bashed' because they're the government, ymb. It's right and proper that they should be held accountable. It also frankly matters a bit more whether or not the Tories split with the current parliamentary numbers.

Labour are of course pretty hopeless under their current leadership and do not obviously stand for anything. But Labour has already fought their civil war. I can't seriously imagine anyone challenging Corbyn after what happened last time.
Yes the Tories are in power, or what passes for it at the moment. That is the key difference. It’s also worse for them as they’ve always been split on this and simmering feuds that blow up are usually worse .
I wonder if David Cameron is watching and thinking: “Yep. I really sorted that one!” :-)
why all the Tory bashing? You should know, you do enough of it: (a) because they're in power; (b) because they introduced Brexit; (c) because they're making a pig's ear of the job.

Labour have nothing to do with Brexit. The whole fiasco has been produced by the Tories from beginning to end. What fools voted them into office???
what fools would vote for Labour, even in this uncertain climate.
Because the Tory’s are in power and the others aren’t. It’s that simple.

And one reason Comrade Corbyn has been reluctant to challenge no confidence in the government. He knows his own party are just as split but all the while in opposition you just keep stumbling and let the stuff hit the electorate in the face and sweep up later.

Yes I do actively bash them.

I get the point about them being in Government but people seem to be talking about the Tory split wrecking their chances come an election. What I am saying is it seems to me the split is just the same in labour so come an election, which may not be far off, what is the difference?
Our electoral system gives a huge - in fact arguably decisive - advantage to parties which stay united (and also concentrate their support, but that's a topic for another time). So if one party divides and the other doesn't, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion. At the moment a Tory split looks more likely as they are in open conflict, though that could of course change...

Of course, if BOTH of the two major parties split... then we can expect considerably more chaos and dysfunction for years to come and it's pretty much impossible to say what would happen. As far as I'm aware that has never happened in British politics.

I can't see how labour will be able to avoid it. Many labour people voted leave as well as Tories. When it comes to electing MP's next time round I suspect there may be some bad feelings floating around.
Who knows? They might not avoid it. But they do have the advantage of being tilted more heavily towards Remain (there's far fewer Eurosceptic Labour MPs than Tory ones, it's pretty much Kate Hoey and a handful of others). They also have the fact that they've already fought a bitter leadership contest effectively over Brexit which Corbyn won pretty comfortably and an election in which he managed to increase their seats. I just can't see anyone trying to oust him again when the membership still seems very loyal to him even though it's basically an open secret that he's a Benn-style Eurosceptic.
Jno 13.29, Have to agree with you, Fools voted the Tories into office
A Tory Fool suggested the referendum . and Fools voted Leave.
They are only fooling themselves.
The politicians should consult the Oracle that is AB. All the solutions are on here
I don’t think the “split” in labour is quite the same. Labour is divided on the approach to the referendum. The Tories are fundamentally split on whether the UK should be in the EU or not.
If you take momentum, about 96% support staying in the EU.

Gulliver @ 18 :23,
Nows your chance, tell us what would be so good about Corbyn being in charge?
Go on, give it a go.
You'll be waiting a long time, Baldric.
Lol

Yeah I know, but it would be good for a laugh, wouldn't it?
The suspense ..... ;o)
