This is why it hasn’t been widely publicised.

Sisi, 64, told the audience that the leaders of 'Germany, England, Italy or any other European country' would protect their borders 'in order to protect the achievements of many long years'.

That’s not the EU way don’t you know.
o god shape up you lot

Sisi is a strong man - not elected - so a clear EU difference there. He also thinks the Christians in his own country ( erm they were there first ) should do exactly that
( follow muslim rules)

he has absolutely no compunction in torturing dissidents
and when the CIA were into that ( torturing people they didnt like or thought they didnt like) he allowed them to run dark prisons in Egypt

[was there on Monday]

a certain amount of shoulder shrugging from the authorities
Elected?

The EU is controlled by a self-perpetuating unelected body led by a lush.

Is Peter confusing (or conflating) Sisi with Morsi and Mubarak?
Time to turn in, but I will commit this thread to MEMRI and pop back in tomorrow.
MEMRI?

...like the corners of my mind
why cant we have someone similar minded in power here.

Because we have an exrtreme left wing opposition and an extreme liberal Tory party
Because you live in a democracy.
Because we're continuing with the multi-culture experiment rather than encouraging integration.
