Sorry to mention the C word, but do you have anyone where you have no idea what to get for them? I am reeling at the prospect of getting my partner something (because he's weird) and his birthday is almost upon me as well so there is that.
He has got me really sweet, cool gifts in the past and always seems to hit the spot with them. I want something unusual, unique and really nice and that will remain forever, but not any sort of 'experience day'. I thought jewellery but that seems a bit like I haven't thought. It can be funny, weird, romantic, anything really but it needs to be reasonably unique. We are unlikely to be spending Christmas together, so nothing I can surprise assemble either or I had thought of a blanket fort (he likes those) and a spoil him day. I don't want to end up buying something generic and naff.
Thanks in advance x

What are his passions kval .. apart from you?
Crickey. You're not asking for much:-)
Hows about a day at a climbing wall?

or how are thayngs in Dixie - gard bless y'all

I think you are being unfair to Mr K - he is not that weird after all he's not your brother ! - - - is he?
( or is that deep South normality )

Now - - - can you ask the fella - sober - if there is an ell in President Polks's name - is it silent like folk or sounded as in colt?

He loves animals, kids, motorbikes, cars, tennis, music, art anything weird and peculiar, new things, gadgets, travel etc. I can't do experience days for him though. Money isn't important he won't care of it cost $50k or 50c, he's not stuck up at all or precious so doesn't have to be expensive.
Example thing he's bought me:- a nightsky of the sky at the time and place something important happened- I want something similarly intimate and nice but genuinely I've no idea what.
I did think of getting something along the lines of a mizpah pendant but instead having something unique to us on it, something that splits in two parts that makes a whole since we're away from each other a lot, but that still seems a bit unthinking somehow x

No he's not my brother Pete, things are good but we're in chilly NY a the moment, not the place to wander around with a gun :)

Yea he smokes and drinks Ummm, both in abundance.
He's a smoker isn't he? How about an engraved ciggie case - a bit old school but very classy.
Depending on where you are how about a surprise picnic oout in the middle of nowhere - where you won't be seen when you really give him his present.
Kval' //something that splits in two parts that makes a whole since we're away from each other a lot//
You can by jewellery in the shape of a heart that does exactly that for each of you to wear one half.
I was thinking the same as RR. A engraved case that would look nice left out when not in use. You can chose the wording that makes it special.
danny - that's a bit naff. Kind of thing teenagers do.
With a matching light as well Ummm you can get some very expensive engraved ones - don't go for gold though to gaudy
Question Author
Yeah, the slit in half pendant thing is a cool and the cigarette case is something permanent and unique to him if done right. I won't be there at Christmas RR but I'll make sure he gets plenty of that before I schlepp home :)
Hi kval, A quality Bluetooth speaker? I bought myself this one, God is it good!!!
Ummmm, OK, must admit though I am along way from being a teenager.Maybe I am just young at heart.
A ukulele?
lol glad to see you got my gist!
Jewellery on men can look a bit naff and cheap - almost porn kingish!
Becareful what you buy.
Question Author
He'd probably like a ukelele, he's got so much weird stuff that it makes him really hard to buy anything for. His saving grace is that he's usually just chuffed with anything you get him, bought him a little keyring and he was nuts happy over that, cost about $3, but i'd still like to get him something that makes him catch his breath.
If he likes weird you may find something here:-

What does he drink as the norm?
A lock of your hair alongside a picture in a new wallet.
My husband still carries this I did for him when I was 21
