Tried searching for a post on this but nothing came up (unless I haven't searched properly or its been removed from AB as well and this thread will disappear too)!

This advert has been banned for being too political and having Greenpeace involvement.

I think Iceland are just highlighting the fact that they're removing palm oil from their own brand foods for the reasons in their video.

Anyway, it brought a tear to my eye. What do you think?

I agree tigger. Good luck to Iceland for raising awareness of this.
I completely agree with the message and if this ad brings their plight to the attention of more people then good for Iceland. I hope more companies follow. Orangutans are fabulous creatures.
Has this really been banned and by whom?
It is a shame it has been banned as it's an important message.
I think it was banned because advertisements may not include a "political "message.
I think they knew it would get banned
The film was banned by Clearcast, which is responsible for the clearance of television ads before they are broadcast, on the grounds of it being seen to support a political issue.

Sorry tigger you already said that in OP
It's a warning about one issue in the destruction of the flipping planet FGS. What's the matter with people. I despair.
Glad to see Jessica in The Guardian agrees with me.

Anyway banning it has apparently drawn a lot of attention to it on various social meeedia forums.
Good Rosie.

Yes, totally backfired!
As so many people skip tv adverts it could be that more people have seen it already than would have watched it on tv

Well done, Iceland. I hope other supermarkets and food producers follow suit
Me too hc. The next time I am asked to write a review after a home delivery from my local Waitrose I shall squeeze a mention in somewhere.
Loved the ad!
I think if Iceland had made its own advert on the same subject instead of using one associated with Green Peace, their ad wouldn’t have been banned. I also think it was a stroke of genius on their part. They are getting a free viral internet ad campaign and saving mega bucks in tv placements costs
Well done to them for making a stand and a splash!

I agree with Woofgang. Superb bit of marketing. Think the message is a good one too.
Let's all boycott goods that use palm oil. It is possible but it will probably cost more
There are signs in Iceland shops, but the commercial would have reached a wider audience. I think Iceland has been at the forefront of green issues for a while. Well done them.
