perhaps you are right, but he has been very vocal throughout his life about many subjects, one wonders if/when he becomes King he will have to bite his tongue.
of course he will, and he's just said so.

not going to be easy then is it. Perhaps as you say his sons can take up the slack.
I think he is taking the right attitude towards it. To be a king, you can't meddle with such topics.

i expect you are right. But i feel that his meddling for want of a better word might still occur backstage as it were.
That should be fine, and i think he will continue to make his opinions heard by those close to him (ie, his sons). If i was king, i certainly wouldn't be affraid to make my environmental concerns very well known.

What powers can a king or queen actually have over such matters?

i missed it i am afraid.
I don't think Philip is in such fine fettle. He was noticeably absent from his granddaughter's wedding and the banquet for the Dutch king.

Really? I didn't watch it but the photo I saw showed the Queen sitting on her own.
