At my mother's funeral my niece's son( 13yrs) turned up in shorts,T-shirt and flip flops.
Those young ladies are pictures of sartorial elegance by comparison.
I was not impressed.
I am in the age group that funerals of aged relatives and friends are quite frequent. Not many folks outside the immediate relatives dress up in formal wear for the funerals these days. Good on the students.
They are most likely in their everyday college attire. Good on them for turning up and swelling the numbers to above 200 who attended the veteran's funeral.
"More formal" doesn't mean formal wear. But that's not the point, we can all agree it was a lovely sentiment.

Retrocop. I've got to admit I would have struggled not to laugh,,,,even
at my mum's funeral.
Thought it was a funeral, not a fashion show. Well done folks.
Retrocop l empathise, at my daughters wedding certain individuals wore shell suits and trainers, plus dotted tattoo line on neck saying cut here...I was tempted.
