...but not, apparently, of presidents.

Trump arrives late at Blenheim.

My wife says that May's husband looks like a Chuckle Brother.

My question: can anyone explain what a Chuckle Brother is? And is my wife right?

Your wife is always right. That should help for the foreseeable future.

I could tell you but it would mean little to you, to me, to you, to me........

The Chuckle Brothers have made a comeback.
The Chuckle Brothers are children's entertainers who bear a striking resemblance to Wilson and Kepple (of Wilson, Kepple and Betty) if you can remember that far back. Not having seen Mr May I cannot comment.

@ douglas @ 1959 proper made me laugh lol
I remember Bush Jr arriving late at the D-Day ceremonies, leaving HM standing waiting in the heat.
I always thougth Arthur Askey.....
you lucky lucky people

[ sings = oh little brown jug dont I luve thee!]
Jackdaw - thanks so much for those clips - much enjoyed.
"Trump arrives late at Blenheim."

As he doesn't drive himself my guess is that, as with other such dignitaries, he is reliant on his entourage. So not sure how you can blame him?
ymb, he's president of the USA. He decides when he arrives.

As I said, presidents have form. My OH was at the D-Day ceremonies and thoroughly disgusted with George W.
"ymb, he's president of the USA. He decides when he arrives. "

Really?

HE may be able to dictate if he wants to be late deliberatley but I dont see how he has much control of the massive entourage around him or sudden events (eg a protestor or being UK Road works!)
he's the president, he's in charge of the entourage not the other way round. They can even find out about road works (that's what an entourage is for). He could in theory be held up by totally unforeseen protestors - but did that happen? I've read nothing to say so.

If he's late, the chances are about 99 in 100 that it's because he wants to be.

Guess you have a direct line to the POTUS then jno, because I for one can't be certain, but then I am a pleb with no contact to him.
jno - // he's the president, he's in charge of the entourage not the other way round. //

In theory, yes, but in practice - not at all.

The complex security arrangements in place anytime the President moves anywhere mean that there is a complex organisation running everything, and it can get into time troubles, like anyone else.

I think blaming the President personally is unfair.
Unfair? Unfair to Trump?

Gord, Andy, what has become of you?

The only way to address Trump is through unfairness, as he addresses us.
