Can we expect soon to see the FLOTUS, as she is sometimes called, rambling the streets of New York draped in message-bearing sandwich-boards such as "The end is nigh" or "Eat at Maxi's!"

You really could not make any of this up. Reminds me of Alan Partridge attending a funeral in an undersized black jacket with a company logo on the back
T-shirt slogans have been around for yonks, but FLOTUSes and the like have usually stayed above the fray. I can't imagine Jackie K carrying Twitter spelling on her back.

Of course the BBC headline is totally misleading (what a surprise)

She wore the coat getting off a plane at DC, she did not wear it in Texas.

Still a bizarre piece of clothing though.
she wore it when she went, and when she returned. She may not have needed it in Texas itself, where the weather is quite warm this time of year, but she clearly did take it on the trip with her, so the headline is correct.
