Damned dangerous is what they appear to be.
One of the accused pled guilty to preparing an act of terrorism after buying a machete to kill an MP.

If he's also found guilty of belonging to National Action, I wonder if a certain AB member will still think they should not be proscribed?
Pled? What does that mean? Do you mean pleaded?
There's a hell of a lot more to that story than meets the eye, I reckon.
'Pled' is the past participle of 'plead' in America, Scotland and parts of England Clarion, it's use is perfectly acceptable.
An as usual search for an equivalence which doesn't exist in the real world. Look:

Osbourne, Jo Cox murdered, Westboro Church lot and, of course, Breivik (or was that Breibart? No offence intended, Spicerack).

In the world we actually live consider this: why are we building bollards bridges and in Christmas markets and taking our shoes off before we can board a plane?

Quoting the nurse in A&E: on a scale of one to ten...
(I keep misspelling the great man's name, don't I? Apologies, Andrew. RIP)
Eight hundred Deobandi and Salafist mosques, but it's this group which is dangerous?

Damned if I know why?
Rephrase that:

the more populous group of extremists is the bigger threat -innit?
These are bad people and hopefully will get a long stretch. But ALL like minded baddies should be punished without fear of upsetting the local comyooonitee.
If proven than the sooner they are off the streets the better.

For a very long time.

//Jack Renshaw, 23, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to preparing an act of terrorism by buying a machete to kill West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper.

He also admitted making a threat to kill police officer Victoria Henderson.//

Shouldn't be too difficult for at least one of them. Hopefully, he is a squealer.
Yup, 'pled', right up there with 'gotten'.

Perfectly correct but grates all the same. :-)
If these men are proven guilty and the fact that they belong to such a group they should be put away for a very long time.

Congratulations to our security services for rooting them out before they could carry out their intentions.
They didn't, AOG.
"t the court heard the plan was foiled after a disenchanted former member of National Action reported the threat to Hope Not Hate, an organisation seeking to combat extreme right-wing political racism."

I wonder if hope not hate are so interested in extreme left wing political racism ? It does exist in both camps.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, if found guilty of belonging to National Action, do you agree the group is right to be proscribed?
^???
ANOTHEOLDGIT has said previously, "All I know is the fact by their very name they are an action group but against what? There are many action groups but it seems that it is only those on the right that are scrutinised and condemned.

Shouldn't groups be allowed to protest against the changes that we can see being made to this country of ours?"

Also, "You are not telling us what most of us don't already know [that National Action is a proscribed group], but the question that should be asked id why?"

Since one of the accused has pled guilty to a charge preparing an act of terrorism, if also found guilty of belonging to N.A., I am interested to know if ANOTHEOLGIT agrees with their prescription.
Some good answers. i've still not worked out the significance of the thread title though
