I'd shut them all if I had my way and I don't care how controversial that sounds! I hate the way they have sprouted up all over my country. Good on Austria.

Well it would make a lot of people on here , learn to to cartwheels
Sadly, not. Too many snowflakes on the ground.
No it wouldn’t.

For decades money from the mad Wahabbis in Saudi Arabia has flooded into the UK funding new mosques. They are a bad influence and that should never have been allowed to happen.

But the Saudis are our allies, so we close our eyes to their brutal dictatorship, their torture and oppression of its own people, and its genocidal wars.

Kicking out a few Saudi sponsored Imans, and closing their establishments would be a good move, but it won’t happen in a million years.
Sadly no, but it should!

The Manchester bomber was a regular worshipper at just such a Saudi funded mosque.

Not that Andy Burnham would try to join up the dots. Nor Amber Rudd and her predecessor at the Home Office. And its latest incumbent won't give much of a damn either, will he?

As Gromit and I are (unusually) on the same side on this issue I wonder what we can jointly do about it?
Sadly nothing as you'd probably get arrested.
no it wouldn't too many right on people who think that its ok to preach hatred and dissent, as long as we have free speech. Personally i would close them all, but there would be the doo gooders out there condemning such an action. More's the pity.
VE,
The Saudis have lots of money, so they can buy influence in Whitehall.
All we can do is highlight (at every opportunity) the hypicrisy of our politicians, who profess to be serious about fighting terrorism, and then smooze with the duplicitous Arabs in the Saudi Embassy. MPs should stop taking up the invites, but they are essentially greedy, self interested charalatans who cannot resist a freebie.

//

and the Libyan community in Manchester have extensively co operated with the authorities

you pick your sound bite and blaaart it at 120 db whatever.
// but they are essentially greedy, self interested charalatans who cannot resist a freebie.// MPs

yeah agree on that

oh and good news - mark rowley - the plod in charge of terrorism and author and activator of the truly awful Protect program has just got a knighthood
More gongs for those who fail ....
and large pensions and ....
//Would This Ever Happen In The U.k.?//

Unfortunately not ... at least not in the immediate future.
Oh dear, have to agree with Gromit on this one.
Question Author
Emmie, is there really free speech in the UK? A certain section of society can say what they like about the rest of us, but we can say very little about them without getting called racist etc, being arrested or whatever.
//and the Libyan community in Manchester have extensively co operated with the authorities//

... based on what evidence?

Libyan family? Refugees? Don't like Gadaffi(RIP)?

Mosque. Salafi? (Google that if you've forgotten what it means).

I'd shut them all if I had my way and I don't care how controversial that sounds! I hate the way they have sprouted up all over my country. Good on Austria.
Thanks for BA thesshhh.
