Why on earth does he pay £109 per month on Sky Sports? We pay about £30 for ours.
Why is the taxpayer paying for it anyway?
He doesnt pay £109 per month - we do.
I know. But why is it that much?
I guess that's for his total Sky package.
Why do we pay? Because those elected by us decide on their own pay and benefits and are without shame in that matter.
Because we pay. He probably just chooses premium package and doenst try to haggle like the rest of us do. Why would he if he isnt paying?
A fine example of a parasite feeding off the backs of the public.
Apparently the Speaker's salary is greater than the PM's.
When does he get the time to watch telly, he seems to be often out and about at great cost to the tax payers.
//£70 for photographs of Mr Bercow to send to his fans//
i can only assume that they were thirty five quid each

Talking of his wife, she's been very quiet of late.
After being caught at it last time probably keeping a low profile.

No doubt with renewed interest in Bercow the hacks will be following her again so we shall see.
Why are we paying for his Sky package?

As speaker of the house why would he be giving dinner parties to anyone? What does his job entail other than sitting on a grand seat being pompous?
Let us look at his life style, he is a Parasite, a Leech, he has his nose in the Trough
Therefore he must be a Consevative. what more can one say!
Oh Gulliver you are so naive. You seem to think only Conservatives have their noses in the trough.

I hate to break it to you dear but they ALL have their noses well and truely in it. You're beloved Labour Party MPs have their noses well and truely ensconced in the troughs swilling around like grand Lords. Not so much 'For the many not the few' more a case of pretending it's for the many as long as we can get away with it.
The Speaker of the House of Commons holds an important position. The position includes the provision of official hospitality to visiting dignitaries from all over the world. The House of Commons is considered 'The Mother of Parliaments' and is an essential stop for parliamentarians visiting from around the globe. The present incumbent has proved somewhat controversial but he still has a position to uphold.
The Speaker MUST be above party politics . He /she is neither Labour Conservative or any other party. But one important function is that if there is ever a tied vote the Speaker ALWAYS casts his or her vote to support whichever party is in government.
Has he ever needed to cast his vote Eddie?

///John Simon Bercow MP is a British politician who has been the Speaker of the House of Commons since June 2009. Prior to his election to Speaker, he was a member of the Conservative Party/// Wiki.
EDDIE, the Speaker DOES NOT vote with the Government in a tied vote.

The Speaker is free to vote in the same way as any other MP but by convention, he/she votes in the following way,

"Speaker Denison's rule is a constitutional convention established by John Evelyn Denison, who was Speaker of the British House of Commons from 1857 to 1872, regarding how the Speaker decides on his casting vote in the event of a tie.

The principle is to always vote in favour of further debate, or, where it has been earlier carried to have no further debate or in some specific instances, to vote in favour of the status quo. For example of the latter approach the Speaker will vote:

In favour of early readings of bills

Against amendments to bills

Against the final enactment of a bill

Against motions of no confidence

The thinking behind the rule is that change should only occur if an actual majority vote is in favour of change."

Mr Bercow is worth his weight in gold, if for no other reason than that he is a long-standing thorn in the side of the Tories! It's wonderful how he has survived the despicably underhand methods some of them have used to try to depose him. Long may he "reign" in his post!
