From the link: “Approximately one in six people are from BAME communities in Bristol,...Six councillors are from BAME backgrounds... and ...for true[i representation that should[?] be up to 12, so right there you can see a deficit [well, we can see a difference] in representation.. . here are [i]systematic] issues in local and national democracy."...

Dear me. This guy has peaked with getting himself a councillor's job with his hand in the trough.
"Hand" was a euphemism.
Webbo's accusation (racist) can't be answered logically (or morally for that matter). But there are plenty of AB luminaries who are on board with this nonsense and will come up with pleasing rationalisations.

Tara.

Tomorrow is another day.
^^^Indeed.

No matter how the spin gets spun by supporters of a BAME only shortlist, should it happen, the simple fact of the matter is that it is racist. In fact, if you had to explain to a child what racism is, this would be a good example.
So in areas where there are less than say .25% BAME we should have no representative then?

What a load of nonsense. All this does is inflame racism.
This type of lunacy should stop, no one is stopping them from standing for election if they so wish, why should they be given an unfair advantage?
