I can just imagine it in the future, if we are under attack, shall we defend? Nope lets recall parliament for a 10 hour chin wag PMSL!

Spath, I'll ask again. What do you think the outcome would be? Do you know what he's fighting?

But who are his opponents?
Assassinating Assad is not a good idea.
For one thing, it isn't just him, it's his entire military and political dynasty of Alawites. And, actually, odd as it may seem for me to be saying this, he is actually a stabilising force in large parts of Syria, for those people who benefit from his regime. The issue with him has always been the methods he has used against anyone he sees as a threat to his regime. Whether it was the original peaceful Arab Spring protests, his war against the defecting Free Syrian Army, and the many militias that sprang from that. The man is a war criminal and maybe one day will stand trial for that, tho I would not hold my breath.
But merely getting rid of him by violent means now is not a sensible idea.

Spath, I'm well aware that all the information is readily available. Unlike some, I read it before I decide what to write.

Spath, ignorant I am not and this isn’t the first time you’ve implied that I am so I’d be obliged if you’d stop. Attacking the messenger doesn’t make you look big, clever, or knowledgeable. If you understood the potential after effects of removing Assad the chances are you wouldn’t suggest that course of action.

Spath, if you know all about it I’m at a loss to understand why you’re asking me what the consequences of removing him would be, but not to worry, I’ll give you a clue anyway. How do you fancy people with the mentality of IS controlling a country slap bang in the centre of the extremely volatile Middle East? Would that be a good thing for Syria, the surrounding countries and for the world?

How many of them? At 2016 the population was 18 million plus.

The "lady in parliament" was appointed to be first minister, whatever that involved. Not just for one objective. Many things must decided/progressed in parallel for a first minister to be of any use.
Neighbouring relatively safe countries have the option of providing refuge. No need to go crossing continents demanding entry to a favoured destination.
Regarding the OP; talk about a leading question!
Of course Parliament should be consulted before committing British men and women to risk their lives, possibly based on spurious grounds.
There should tough be though the proviso that a unilateral decision may have to be made by no. 10 when the danger to the country is immanent , and I do mean mean immanent - as in hours.
Which was not, by any means the case in this latest Syrian attack.

Like Jeremy Corbyn, I hate the specious arguments of gung-ho armchair warriors.
I don't see too much wrong with the idea of a War Powers Act. It would of course all depend on the detail within it. The act could say that the PM could make the decision to defend our country when under attack without consulting parliament.
"...but i find it slightly offensive when it's implied i have no idea what i'm going on about."

Your previous posts have ably demonstrated that your understanding is, at best, limited.
