Here goes genius Trump again. He now proposes more guns rather than fewer by arming school teachers. How far round the twist will he be allowed to go and remain in office? Has the NRA got to him first before the school pupils?

As I have already pointed out on a similar thread. Trump's brother is the official spokesperson for the NRA. Trump is up to his ears in the NRA. They rate him as the best president yet.

One idea I saw that may have merit is not to name mass shooters. Apparently there is evidence that they crave publicity and love the notariety. Refusing to name them may help by denying them the infamy they desire.At first I thought the idea was ridiculous but on thinking about it there could be a valid point.

I've been told that in Minnesota you have be 21 to drink but 14 to have a rifle. There may be different ages for buying / owning / carrying.

Yes in the USA you can legally own an assault rifle and a few thousand rounds of ammunition several years before you can buy a bottle of beer.

He is not round the twist though is he? He is delivering to his voters. That may not please the left wing in the US or here in Europe but non of them would vote for him if he was the best person in the world.

I think he is being pragmatic. There is no way that 400 million guns can be removed from the country so the only way, in the immediate future, is to protect. Not a situation I would relish but I have, as yet, not seen anyone come up with a better idea.

Alongside this The Donald is starting to put some additional checks in place. Of course this is not going to change everything but if small steps are made they will get there.

The US still need to get to the bottom of why their citizens do this. Other countries are armed and don't do it so why so many in the USA? If they don't address this then the perpetrators of such atrocities will simply use bombs or trucks.

Dear Rich, all politicians will favour their voters. They have got to their place in power by a 'majority' based on their manifesto. So whilst the leader of a nation may be the leader of the whole nation he/she has a duty to deliver to the 'majority' who put him/her there.
