I am quite frankly appalled at the pathetic sentence that was handed down to this vicious person. He should never be allowed to have an animal again in his life never mind a 4 year ban and 4 months prison, it is unduly lenient

You do wonder about the logic of a four year ban. I mean is it likely that anyone capable of beating a dog unconscious and throwing it into a road is EVER going to be a fit person to keep an animal?

don't get me started!
oh AH will be along in a minute to tell you that you are not allowed to be appalled by animal cruelty unless you are a veggie.
I can't read it because it will haunt me but as a general rule I think sentences for animal cruelty are too lenient. If you are convicted then it should be a given that you are banned for life from ever keeping animals again and that's just for starters.

Absolutely Ludwig. I think the same.

Animals are so faithful and loyal. Over 30 years i have had the great joy of having had 2 cats who have gone to cat heaven and I am now on my third cat who is 6. I was so angry when I read this. This person should never be allowed an animal ever again.

I agree that it is no more than a slap on the wrists.

This guy got a bit longer

Evil piece of scum. I know what I'd be dishing out if I ever got my hands on this pathetic excuse for a human being.

I just hope that he's being loved and nurtured in his new home. Poor little creature.
Says you NoM who admitted to hitting her dog. Double standards!!!
It may appear lenient but was it the maximum that could be given under the current law?
Lenient, agreed and the ban should be a lifetime one - he'll never be fit to own an animal.
I don't want to read that. Ludwig's post is enough for me.
It may just be my perception but it seems more and more that these savages get away with pretty lenient sentences for (animal or human) assault whilst dare steal some money and your baged up for years.

I cannot see any reason on earth why this POS should ever be allowed to own an animal. Also worrying is that if he can do that to an animal what will he do to a human he argues with?
I gave my dog a smack on the leg when he bared his teeth at me after I told him off for raiding the bin.

Ummmm, put your wooden spoon away, there's a good girl.
I can only agree that it's too lenient a sentence & should be a lifetime ban.
The law's an Ass!
People like that should be banned for life!
My favourite dog too..
I read, I think, some months ago now that tougher laws were going to be brought in for animal cruelty as the ones now are just too lenient, but I am still waiting for them to be brought in! Thank goodness this poor dog is in a good home now and won't be tortured again, but a four year ban - ridiculous !!

TTT that story has me sobbing here - such a lovely animal.
Bring back birching for animal abusers!
