Another breakdown in procedure/training whatever?

Parents will soon lose confidence.

Sadly we will never eradicate human error - glad Alex is safe.

Mamy...you would have thought that after the last 2 incidents, everybody associated with transporting kids in buses would have been aware of the dangers. But it seems not. What would have happened to Alex if he had made his own way out of the bus and wandered off ?
Mikey, these incidents are rare.

//What would have happened to Alex if he had made his own way out of the bus and wandered off ?//

How can anyone possibly answer that ^^, when it didn't happen?
// Mikey, these incidents are rare.//
what are you going on about ?
so rare they shouldnt occur
// How can anyone possibly answer that ^^, when it didn't happen?//
because it is a hypothetical question and AB abounds with hypothetical questions and their answers

blimey I feel as tho I am in Alice's Wonderland - oh no I cant be because ....[it doesnt exist]
I had this happen to my daughter many many years ago. She was carried in Mini bus from home to school and back because of our countryside location..she was not a special needs pupil. I was frantic when they didn't drop her off at home and was glad her school satchel contained her address which at age five she had the nous to show them the note! Can empathise totally with how the parents felt .... must have been horrendous.

These incidents are rare ?..........well, that is OK then, isn't it ?
No one is saying it's OK, but if you can find a way to totally eradicate human error then that would be wonderful.

Mamy....my meaning is perfectly clear. If these incidents occurred about one a year,I could understand.

But this is the latest of 3 that have happened recently.
You would have thought that all bus companies would have put in measures to keep these incidents to a bare minimum.
3 in 3 months - how many in the 20 years before that?
Don't overdo the outrage Mikey!

One incident mentioned in your Link is from Jan 2014
noooo Baldric really?
Once is too often !
OK, you have a point Mickey but dont over egg it.

People that drive buses are not generally MENSA candidates and even those of us who are not can make mistakes.

Maybe they should complete a checklist that says check the bus?

What I wonder is why a vulnerable child is doing on a bus. My daughter, who is deaf, was taken by taxi to school with others as it was quite some distance nd paid for by the Tory council who can balance books. I see the labour council have now done this, maybe they hold some blame too?
-- answer removed --
They don't really need training in care, they just need to be told to check the bus is empty. You don't need to be in Mensa for that, you don't even have to be able to count to three. Just walk up and down the aisle to see if anyone's still there.

jno....well said !
The bus company has lost its contract, and the council is laying on a taxi to take him and return him home.
