Yes.
One wonders if any goods were taken as compensation for offence caused.

Some people just luv making an exhibition of themselves.
Don't know . we don't know the full details of what happened at the shop .
Not the coolest reaction.
"At the East Rand Mall the protesters managed to enter the shop & stole several items. #SAPS members had to intervene and dispersed the group of protesters by firing rubber bullets."

why didn't they protest peacefully, seems a total over reaction, and items were stolen so not just a protest but a chance to grab what you can..
Just another chance at a little looting, I wonder how many came away with a few "Coolest Monkeys in the Jungle" hoodies?
As we know, there are some strange folk about.

anne:"Don't know . we don't know the full details of what happened at the shop" - I was going by the phrase "trashed" and also the pictures. eg here for example: https://news.sky.com/story/hm-stores-in-south-africa-ransacked-over-racist-hoodie-advert-11206213
I can imagine the reaction if a shop in London started selling hoodies with the slogan "English are white trash". Very similar, I suspect.

so basically an excuse for crime then, right oh!
That's the thing about imagination I suppose.

They might sell well in Edinburgh and Cardiff though ;-)

There was no insult in the hoodie save that imagined by the protestors. The suggested comparisons are clearly insulting.
Clearly just an opportunity to loot. It is Jo'burg.
