Can't be bothered to read it all, it's so boring, but seems to me he's just saying he regrets saying it wasn't. He doesn't appear to be changing his mind about it not being a sin.
Yep, he is.

Religion is really screwing him up.
A little off topic so apologies - but his chat between the question rounds last week on Mastermind were very honest and touched on this preoccupation with his Faith.

Also he did brilliantly for his chosen Charity.
^ I should add he was asked about the preoccupation, he did not bring it up.
It's days like this that I am glad to be an atheist.

The thought of spending every waking hour believing in a 'loving God', and then fretting because you can never live up to what He is supposed to expect of you - that sounds like a seriously grim way to live.

AH: "It's days like this that I am glad to be an atheist. " - me too, I have always struggled with the the paradox that anyone of even the most limited intelligence can possibly get themselves into the mental straight jacket of religion yet there are many demonstrably intelligent people who have done just that.
I saw something earlier on Huffington. He said that he always believed gay sex to be a sin, and he regrets saying it wasn't during the election.

He felt pressured at the time.

Since he misled the electorate perhaps he should apply for the stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds. He could then stand for re-election and see if the Good Burghers of Westmorland and Lonsdale still want him as their MP now he has declared his true position on such an important issue.
It was obvious that there was no convition in what he said about 'Gay sex' during the election campaign ... non at all.
Talbot, I agree. Politics isn't the game for him.
He could and should have handled it just like Jacob Rees-Mogg. "I believe this because of my religion, if my party votes otherwise then it's not party policy, if parliament votes otherwise then it's not law". It's quite simple, but he tied himself in knots over it.

Oh, come on, let's be honest, who really cares what Tim Farron says?
Would it be venereal sin ;)
On the subject of sin, Farron's real (i.e. [i]spiritual/moralquote[) sin was lying about his true beliefs on the matter of homosexuality - unlike Rees-Mogg who was honest about his view on abortion.

Farron's ]political/practicalquote[ sin was [i]not] lying about those beliefs.

The irony, of course, is that probably half of the people who voted for Sadiq Khan, who has an impeccable record in his public support for all the LGBTQwerty issues, share Farron's religious prejudices.

Try again, VE.

...and unlikely to get any better with a third reading.

But tbf, most folks will have a better idea of how italics and similar work
Rum, Sodomy and the Libs
Is that a new cocktail Douglas?
It's cosy in that phone-box ...
