no idea why we cannot give councils power to move these on and confiscate their mercs and porsches to pay for the tish they leave behind. Too many hand wringing lefties I suppose.

Unfortunately I suspect you are right, the liberal left have a lot to answer for.
lets round them up and export them to the EU.
So what have they done wrong? They have parked on what essentially appears to be waste ground.

To be honest I am surprised many have not gone. They have been quite vocal in saying they would be off but like the Hollywood luvvies in us saying they would go to Canada if Trump won they still seem to be here.

Just hot air I supposed. I am not surprised.

You try doing it Iselay and see what happens.
no idea, but it's time someone got tough over these illegal people and their vehicles.
islay; "So what have they done wrong? They have parked on what essentially appears to be waste ground. - perlease! it's a park and ride F/FS, they leave tish everywhere costing thousands to clean up. Low life parasites of the worst kind.
//So what have they done wrong? They have parked on what essentially appears to be waste ground.//

A former park and ride owned by Cambridge University.

Shouldn't be hard to round em up TTT. The two vehicles shown are taxed and must therefore have an address to send the clean up bill to. Now if I can ascertain that in 2 minutes, how come plod and the rest of the hand wringers appear unable to?
How are the people illegal Emmie?
Don't know how many travellers are there, but about 13 caravans and vehicles of all shapes and sizes took up residence on a children's recreation ground near me a few weeks before Christmas. They had to move two heavy boulders and cut their way through a gate to gain entry. Their intentions were made clear when, not only did they bedeck one of the caravans with fairy lights, but also applied to a local nursery where my daughter works to have 3 of their children to attend. I believe they have 'thinned out' a tad but most are still there.
Islay, it's not waste ground. It's private property.
Islay
as Naomi has pointed out its private property,
If its private property then they are trespassing and there is a law that covers that.
As this does not seem to have been actioned one wonders if its just the right wingers getting their knickers in a twist over it!
And I did say 'appears'
Emmie - can you please answer my questions about the people being illegal?
"if its private property then they are trespassing and there is a law that covers that" - indeed but we never seem to enforce the law.
illegal in so far they are trespassing.
Islay, your question has been answered. They have no right to set up camp on private property.
So its their actions that are illegal as opposed to the people then!
But as neither the council or the college has commented on their alleged 'trespass' all we have is some people getting het up over it!
