What’s happening with the war on Isis as there hadn’t been much on the news about Syria, Iraq,Afghanistan as we all seem to be focused on brexit, trump and n Korea

now it would be mopping up insurgents, strong holds bombed from the skies, more or less dead on the ground in any sense of the word, for backup and command, let alone resupply, most would would be in hiding looking for an escape route, and probably would be shot anyway
once they said give up or die, and they carried on the their futile fight, better that they are shot or hung.
no need for trials, people on the ground know who they are..recon
hang or shoot them, unless some liberals prefer a nice long tax payer funded trial, better dead

Are Isis still fighting/ controlling areas or have they all been chased away?
they are gone, but their mental defectives live on..? sad thing is some people actually like what they did, bit like pol pot in the 70's, and let's be honest isis like polpot was mass murder, single minded insanity, murder people because they do not believe like you do...
Question Author
Polpot? Who would like Isis apart from terrorists and their sympathisers?
no because extremists hide in plain sight over the muslim world. Most give tacit support to extremists some teeter on the edge of extremism, many would not need much of a shove in that direction. Islam is a nasty branch of the cancer of religion that infects the world. This nasty bunch are just the latest most brutal of fundamentalists, they are largely suppressed for now but like the hydra other heads will no doubt grow in its place.
Question Author
Ttt, we cant blame a whole religion because of some psychopathic nut cases. None of the Muslims I know are dangerous potential terrorists, in fact the Muslims I know are amongst the most peaceful people I’ve ever met.
hence the phrase "Most give tacit support"
Yep.
Russia won.
There’s a huge amount of ignorance being displayed here. Most of the people killed by IS have been Moslems of course, so the issue now in many places is one of retribution and revenge killing. There’s also the issue of the families of the fighters, many of whom are foreign nationals who deeply regret the path they have chosen. Of course the reaction here to that will be predictable.
Both Iraqi - and later Syrian - governments proclaimed victory over IS but pockets of resistance are likely still to remain. The civil war in Syria meanwhile rumbles on. And as for IS they are present in other countries too. The myth that they were building an ever expanding caliphate, used to attract recruits, may have been irreparably damaged.
The big danger is because ISIS have been displaced in Syria and Iraq their fighters will cause mayhem in the West.
Very regrettably I am expecting more terror attacks in Britain, Europe & the USA.
An ideology that wants all the world under Sharia law and has total hatrid for all non Muslims wont go away too easily
Question Author
I’ve seen a thread here on the church letting Muslims pray there, surely they aren’t plotting to terrorise and kill their fellow church mates? I think this outlines that not all Muslims are terrorists who hate the West
IS hates everyone who isn't IS
There’s a huge amount of ignorance being displayed here.
I said that already ;-)
