if they don't like it, *&^% off to a muslim state, end of.
The County Council currently dishes out Halal meat in its schools. Halal slaughter is not illegal. Banning suppliers for tendering for council contracts if they employ halal slaughter is probably illegal, which is why the council have backed down.
Whoever proposed this ban on Halal meat must have known what a furore it would cause.Idiot.(IMO)

It's clear the fallout has resulted from a lack of consultation that has been present in the past.
it seems we must endure gromits comments without response

If you don’t want comments, why post a question ?
Maybe they banned it to highlight the fact that they can not presently avoid something they feel is immoral, but are forced to be a part of it.

If farmers only sold himanely killed stock, halal would be thwarted.

I dont know any Brit muslim farmers.....yet ;)
I don't think that farmers have any control over slaughterhouses.
it was within the rules no bad language all queens English. You can probably see it with your moderator privileges.
Unfortunately, as there are probably one or two Muslim pupils in Lancashire schools, they will have to be catered for.
I don’t think properly conducted halal slaughter is any less humane than non halal
At the end of the day, it’s slaughter whichever way you look at it

TTT,
I did not see it, and cannot view it. If it was within the sites rules, I have no idea why it was removed. I notice bainbrig had an answer removed too (I didn’t read that one either).
