naomi, I find your posts and queries of others are increasingly obtuse and pointless. My point is that the police were incompetent at best to just accept that a lorry would go to the tip and pay the entry fee just to tip 11Kg of waste. All this is beside the point, which is to try to come up with a viable theory of what could have happened. I still think that by far the...

Unfortuately they could add four noughts to the end of that figure and the mystery will still not be solved.

Will probably encourage people to go searching the waste disposal site. The Police seem convinced that he is there.

Based on what we already know, I tend to agree with the Police.

Its the only plausible answer so far.
unless he has gone awol..

Knowing the area, but not that well, I suspect he tried to get back to Base across the Farmland, and is most likely in one of the Drainage Ditches.
I think that Baldric. Suffolk is very rural with lots of country lanes, few pavements, lots of ditches surrounding fields and very little lighting. There is also fairly extensive woodland not too far away from Bury St Edmunds. I'm guessing the CCTV covering the area behind the shops where he was last seen doesn't cover the whole space and maybe he walked out undetected. Unless of course .... he wanted to disappear. So many options really.

Emmie...that theory was dismissed by most people a long time go.

On the evening and night in question, Corrie was parasitically drunk. If he had made plans to "disappear" he wouldn't have been in any fit state to carry this plan out.

Add to that that there is CCTV evidence of him entering the Horseshoe Area ( where the bins were) but no such CCTV evidence of him leaving. There is still a slight chance of him having been abducted while he was there. Now that no evidence has been found at the landfill site, that is what his Mother now believes.

But the really sticky bit of evidence is that his Mobile was tracked from the Horseshoe Area, all the way to the landfill site near Barton Mills.
From the footage I seen he didn't look paralytic. Drunk yes but not paralytic.
It is very doubtful that Corrie disappeared of his own accord or by his own hand. Hopefully the amount of this reward will bring forward some new evidence - that is a lot of money for someone who has been keeping their mouth shut.
Ummm the cctv is after he had slept it off in a doorway, still the worse for wear but not as bad as he would have been earlier.
Mikey, // If he had made plans to "disappear" he wouldn't have been in any fit state to carry this plan out. //

Maybe he decided to disappear after he'd slept it off. In his drunken state he could have climbed in a bin to sleep and dropped his phone which would explain it being tracked later. It's all speculation. We just don't know.
I said on the other thread on this that I think he is in a drainage ditch.
The lorry that his phone signal was coming from stopped at a layby at Barton Mills and at that time the signal stopped.
saplesam , the police have been searching the landfill site for months, and have dug up and turned over the entire lot , just a few days ago they announced that they are now certain he was never there.

Barton Mills is near me but it is in the middle of nowhere. I still think he is at the bottom of a drainage ditch.
^So do I.... or somewhere in Thetford forest.
Question Author
Baldric....that might very well have been the case.

He could have slipped out of the bin lorry, on route to the landfill site, leaving his Mobile there, and then came to his death, in the manner you describe.
lankeeler...it doesn't matter how drunk he was before then if the CCTV capture him not so drunk after.
//He could have slipped out of the bin lorry, on route to the landfill site, //

If he'd ever been in a bin lorry, he'd have been crushed surely? Those things pick the bins up automatically, tip the contents into the back of the lorry and crush them.
Question Author
Eddie...somebody made the following comment, at some time in the past abut this case, and it might have been you.

That a body in these drainage ditches, could very well have ended up, out at sea.

I know the area north a little bit, and there are hundreds of these ditches there.
The area is very nearly as far from the sea as it is possible to get in the UK. But the ditches drain into bigger ditches and then into rivers and on to the sea , so it is possible. But I still think he is at the bottom of a ditch somewhere within a few miles of where he was last seen.
Question Author
Eddie....could be, could be.
The bin lorry picked up a very small amount that night, no reason to use the compactor. Being tipped in could seriously injure you.
